Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon) novel Chapter 300

"Get some rest. I'll call the doctor," Edward said.

Janice was startled by his sudden appearance and grabbed his wrist. "What are you doing back?"

"I'm done with work, so I came home." He gave her a once-over. "What happened to you?"

"I'm fine. I've just been feeling nauseous. The doctor said…" She paused. "I haven't been eating regularly. I just need rest. But how can I rest right now?”

"Are you sure?"

"Of course." Janice forced a smile. "I take my health seriously, you know? If something were seriously wrong, I'd be the first to get treatment. Why would I lie to you?"

"Take a rest, then. My parents are coming soon. They can keep you company."

"What?" She blinked. "Your parents are coming to Greenfield City?"

"Yeah. My dad's taking a break from work. Since you'll be resting at home too, having them nearby will be better. They can check in on you, and I'll feel more at ease."

"Nearby?" Janice thought for a moment. "Why don't they just stay at your place?"

"That wouldn't be convenient. And I don't want you feeling uncomfortable."

After all, there could be generational differences. Edward didn't want Janice to feel awkward around his parents.

She got up. "Let's talk about this at home.”

With that, she grabbed her bag and tucked the test results inside.

Back home, Janice freshened up and went straight to bed.

Knowing she wasn't feeling well, Edward didn't disturb her. He grabbed a late-night snack before turning in himself.

The next morning, she was the first to wake up. When Edward woke up and didn't see her, he found her in the bathroom, vomiting.

"What's going on? Didn't the doctor prescribe anything?"

When she finally stood up, he frowned. "You need to be admitted to the hospital."
