Chapter 8 

I never saw Matthew and Patrick again. 

Any news about them reached us through the internet. After the divorce, the brothers remained unmarried and did not seem to date either. 

They became known as the “Young Monks.” 

As for Megan, after leaving the Brosnan family, she had no real skills to rely on and became some rich man’s secret mistress. 

Eventually, her affair was discovered by the man’s wife, who beat her mercilessly. 

Megan was then sold to a red–light district, where she became a prostitute, developed a drug addiction, and contracted AIDS and 

other diseases. 

She had long lost the glamorous image she had as the Rose of the Brosnan family. 

In the end, on a cold winter night, she committed suicide by jumping from a building, leaving behind no farewell words. 

After Sarah and I took the time to recuperate, we embarked on the entrepreneurial journey we had long envisioned. 

We excelled in handmade crafts and beauty products. 

As we had very little money, we began by selling our goods at street stalls. 

As our business flourished, we gradually opened storefronts and even expanded to a nationwide chain. 

Taking advantage of the rapid development of the internet, we began operating a media platform, creating both online and 

offline stores. 

Our business thrived, and we established our own company. 

Not only that, but we also founded the “Women’s Alliance” to support and assist women in entrepreneurship, encouraging financial independence and spiritual freedom. 

Gradually, many joined us, including recent female graduates and stay–at–home moms who faced disrespect from their 

husbands and in–laws. 

Even more were the women who had fought back against domestic violence and had found themselves imprisoned, only to emerge stronger after serving their time. 

The crowd varied greatly, yet we all shared the same belief: women must achieve economic independence. 

In addition, Sarah adopted several children from an orphanage, providing them with various resources. Though she could no longer have children of her own, her love for them remained strong. 

Our lives improved day by day, and we became well–known in our country, attracting more and more people seeking our support. 

During our company’s anniversary celebration, a reporter asked me, “Why do you choose to help them?” 

I was no longer the same person, yet I still remained true to myself. I am Catherine Tunstall–unique and in a class of my own.
