Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 351

"Izzy, I think we should start thinking about names for our twins. If we wait until they're born, it'll be a hot mess." Ethan suggested.

Ines, who was knocked out tired this time, murmured, "You decide. If you can't come up with good ones, let Phillip do the heavy lifting."

"Why would I need their help naming my own kids?" Ethan grumbled.

They chit-chatted and laughed for a bit before Ines snoozed off. Whatever happened yesterday, they had shrugged it off in just a day.

They were sleeping soundly, oblivious to the commotion brewing in the Meyer family. Emma's advice for Ines to play weak in front of the Meyer family was unnecessary because Ashley had inadvertently spilled the beans.

Early next morning, Ethan's phone started ringing, disturbing Ines' sleep. Annoyed, she grumbled, "Who's the early bird disturbing our peace?"

Ethan glanced at the caller ID and said, "It's Phillip."

Ines widened her eyes, "Well, pick up! He might have something urgent."

Ethan knew his grandfather well. There was likely no emergency. Maybe Ashley had let something slip, and now they were figuring out how to dealt with him.

"I don't think it's anything urgent. They're probably just gearing up to give me a piece of their mind." Ethan said and answered the call, "Phillip."

"What the hell is going on? Ashley says you've upset Izzy." Phillip yelled through the phone.

"That's not what happened. She might've misunderstood. I'll find some time to clear things up." Ethan said.

"I want a straight answer right now." Phillip's voice boomed.

"It's complicated. I can't explain it right now. We'll swing by the Meyer Mansion tonight and fill you in on everything." Ethan said.

"You better keep your word. Don't even think about pulling a fast one. Remember to bring Izzy along tonight." Phillip sounded especially impatient this time and hung up the call abruptly.

Ines looked at Ethan in shock, "Is it because of our little issue?"

Ethan nodded, leaving Ines at a loss for words. She hadn't expected such a minor issue to reach the Meyer family and cause them worry. She felt incredibly embarrassed.

"This isn't a small matter. Anything related to you can't be dismissed as trivial. Looks like we really have to make a trip to the Meyer Mansion tonight." Ethan said.

Ines nodded, "Then let's go. I'll explain everything to them myself so they won't misunderstand."

"Izzy, I owe you one." Ethan said.

Ines gave Ethan a side glance, joking smirkingly, "Scoring a good man isn't easy, so I'm prepared for all kinds of hiccups."

Hearing her say this, Ethan felt a pang of sadness. His intentions weren't to make her face difficulties. He just wanted her to be comfortable and happy.

"If you're Hermione, then I'm Ron. I'll protect you." Ethan said.

"Like Harry Potter? Then we'll always be in danger. I don't want that." Ines said.

Ethan couldn't help but laugh.

In the morning, Ines' words lifted Ethan's spirits, and they headed to the office in a good mood.

At noon, Ines got a call from Aaron. He wanted to meet up. It had been a while since she had seen him, so she agreed.
