Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 354

Ines was taken aback for a moment, realizing that was why Ethan had held her. It was indeed painful for him to accept this reality, but she didn't think it was unfair. As his wife, she would accompany him through everything.

"Ethan, don't overthink. I don't feel wronged. You always put my safety first. How could I feel wronged?" Ines comforted.

"Izzy." Ethan leaned in closer to her face.

Ines chuckled softly, "That tickles."

They embraced quietly again until Ethan's mood gradually stabilized. Ines began to feel a dull ache in her legs, "Ethan, my legs are aching. Can we sit down and talk instead of standing?"

Upon hearing this, Ethan quickly led Ines to the couch and started to gently massage her legs, "If you're uncomfortable, tell me. I tend to overlook these things sometimes."

Ines was happy to hear Ethan say this, regardless of how others perceived her. She was genuinely happy. He was always an honest person. His words only indicated that he had truly let go of the past, which was beyond her expectations.

In front of Ethan, she didn't want to hide her feelings, so she smiled and said, "I'm fine."

Her happiness made Ethan feel like it was all worth it.

After a while, Ines said, "Ethan, weren't we supposed to go home? It's getting late, we should leave, or we'll miss dinner."

Ethan chuckled, wondering if they would even have dinner tonight.

"We can afford to be a little late. I'll massage your legs a bit more, they seem a bit swollen." Ethan said, focusing on massaging Ines's legs.

Seeing Ethan so focused, Ines leaned back on the couch to rest. Silas sneaked a peek at them before heading home.

On the way to the Meyer Mansion, Ines found it odd that they hadn't received any calls from home asking when they would be back. Their phones had been silent all day.

Upon entering the living room, they didn't see their family preparing dinner. Instead, they saw Erica sitting on the couch, with Phillip looking serious beside her.

It felt like an interrogation scene.

Ines clung to Ethan's arm, looking at him with a puzzled expression. Ethan gently patted her hand, signaling that everything was fine.

Just then, Erica looked up at them and said to a servant, "Take Izzy to the dining room for dinner."

"Okay, ma'am." The servant said.

Ines was surprised. Had everyone already eaten? But why was she the only one being taken to eat, what about Ethan?

"Izzy, you go eat first. I need to discuss some things with mom and grandpa. Once we're done, I'll come find you." Ethan said to Ines.
