Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 376

As soon as the three of them walked in and saw Ines looking all haggard, they couldn't help but frown.

Erica immediately rushed forward, pouring the soup she had made into a bowl and handing it to Ethan, "Ethan, judging by the way Izzy looks, she's about to go into labor any minute now. Feed her something first, otherwise she might not have the strength later."

Ethan took the bowl, gently blowing on the soup to cool it down as he fed Ines, taking care of her with such tender affection.

"Izzy, you've been through a lot. Now you need to drink as much as you can. That way you'll have the strength later. Otherwise, it might get tricky," Erica spoke to Ines.

Ines weakly nodded, showing she understood, and managed to drink two large bowls of soup.

The doctor came back in to check on her once more, and finally, it was time to push Ines into the delivery room.

Ethan gave Ines' hand a tight squeeze, encouraging her, "Izzy, hang in there, don't be scared. I'll be right outside waiting for you guys."

Everyone else chimed in too, "Izzy, you got this."

Ines gave a faint smile, indicating she understood.

Camela slipped a few pieces of chocolate into the nurse's hand, instructing her to give them to Ines when she ran out of energy.

The door to the delivery room slammed shut, and Ethan stood as close as he could without moving a muscle. Trenton, empathizing with his nerves, gave him a comforting pat on the shoulder, "Ethan, chill out. It'll be over before you know it."

Ethan nodded at his father. Just then, Erica took Ethan's hand. But when the sound of Ines screaming came from the delivery room, Ethan's body trembled and then stiffened.

Erica held his hand tightly, reassuring him, "Ethan, it's going to be okay."

Inside the delivery room, the sounds of Ines' screams echoed one after another, leaving Ethan's heart hanging by a thread, even his breaths were held in.

Every minute felt like torture for Ethan. He began to pace back and forth outside the delivery room, his initial stiffness turning into restlessness.

His grandfather, feeling concerned for Ines, was getting dizzy watching Ethan pacing. "Ethan, come sit down for a bit. Don't keep walking around like that, you're making me dizzy."

"Grandpa, I can't sit still," Ethan confessed.

Even though he stopped pacing, he still stood at the door, eyes fixed on the door without blinking.

Erica pulled Trenton aside, her voice tinged with a hint of melancholy, "Your son really cares about Izzy. You didn't seem to be this worried when I was in labour."

Trenton gave an awkward chuckle. When Erica was giving birth to Beasley, he was by her side. But when Ethan was born, he was away on a mission. By the time he got back, Ethan was already a month old.

"That was because of my work. It wasn't what I wanted."

Erica shot Trenton a side glance and fell silent. She wasn't really mad, but seeing her son and daughter-in-law in this situation reminded her of some things, and she just blurted it out.
