Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 377

The hospital was understanding of the grandparents' desperate longing to hold their grandkids, so they let them have a quick snuggle before two nurses took the babies, saying, "These little tykes still have some blood on them. We need to give them a bath and change their clothes. If you have any spare clothes, you can give them to us."

"We've got everything ready," Camela quickly handed over a bag of clothes to the nurse.

Erica thought for a moment and said, "Dad, Trenton, you go with the nurse to see the babies. Camela and I will go check on Ines. Once the babies are cleaned up, bring them over straight away."

In the ward, Ines had been sleeping soundly without waking up. When Camela and Erica entered, Ethan was still holding Ines' hand, his eyes fixed on her face with a tender and intense gaze that made it hard to disturb him.

"Ethan, has Ines woken up?" Erica asked.

Ethan shook his head, "She's still asleep. The doctor said she's exhausted and told us not to disturb her and let her rest."

Hearing this, both of them fell silent. But when Camela noticed that Ines' hair was damp, she couldn't help whispering to Ethan, "Ethan, get some warm water. Let's wipe Ines' face. She might sleep better that way."

Just as Ethan was about to let go, Ines furrowed her brow slightly, so he continued to hold her hand.

Seeing this, Camela smiled and said, "I'll go get the water then, seems like Ines can't do without you for now."

Camela brought over a basin of water, soaked a towel, and handed it to Ethan. He patiently wiped Ines' face and hands, not missing her neck either.

Ines must have been really tired. She slept soundly, showing no signs of waking up.

After a while, the two babies were brought in all cleaned up. Since they were healthy, they got to stay in the same room as their mom, no separate arrangement needed.

It was a VIP maternity ward, equipped with baby cots. The two babies were placed directly on the bed, both fast asleep.

Phillip simply couldn't bear to leave. The more he looked, the more adorable he found the babies were. He just pulled over a chair and sat next to the cots, the smile never leaving his face. Trenton was the same, standing off to the side.

Seeing this, Erica chuckled and said to Trenton, "Don't you have duties at the base today? Ines might not wake up for a while, probably not till evening. Why don't you come over after you've finished your tasks?"

"No, I've just taken a three-day leave," Trenton replied.

Erica couldn't help but laugh. Everyone was reluctant to leave. But once Ines woke up, she would need to eat. Someone had to go home and cook.

Camela seemed to see their dilemma and laughed, "I'll go back then. After all, our home is close to the hospital. It's inconvenient for you guys to come and go. I'll prepare some food for Ines and bring it over."

Erica nodded. Camela pointed to the cabinet in the room and said, "The babies probably won't sleep for too long. Izzy might need to feed them soon, but she might not have milk yet. So I've prepared formula and other necessities in the cabinet."

Erica felt somewhat embarrassed. Camela had been running around since last night and hadn't rested at all. "Camela, you've really worked hard. Just prepare some food for Izzy, then take a good rest. We'll take care of everything here."
