When Beasley was leaving, Ines saw Erica secretly wiping her tears, and Phillip's eyes were slightly red as well. Beasley gave Ethan a pat on the shoulder, "Ethan, I'm leaving mom, dad, and grandpa in your care. Let me know if anything comes up, and I'll come back immediately."
Ethan nodded, "Don't worry, take care of yourself over there, we're all waiting for you to come back."
Ashley clung to Beasley's waist like a child, "I'm going to miss you. Who's going to help me out with my problems when you're gone? Ethan doesn't care about me like you do."
"What big problems could you possibly have?" Beasley ruffled Ashley's hair.
Ashley leaned into Beasley and whispered, "I've fallen for a guy who's a bit older than me. I'm afraid our family won't approve. I'll come to you for help, and you have to back me up."
Beasley raised his brows in surprise, about to respond when Ashley quickly covered his mouth, "Don't ask me who it is now, I'll tell you later, no rush. Just wait until you come back."
Beasley was taken aback. This little girl already had a boyfriend? He'd really fallen behind. No wonder mom was so worried about his marriage.
Two weeks after Beasley left, Ines started working at the Galeana Group again. Because Silas wasn't feeling well, Ines gave him two weeks off to rest. Without her secretary, Ines felt a bit out of sorts, but she adjusted after a few days.
Ines hadn't seen Emma for a while, so she visited a few property sales offices with the sales director. When she saw Emma, she hardly recognized her. She had gotten sunburned considerably compared to before.
She was dressed in the company's uniform for sales, wearing a professional smile on her face. She had a walkie-talkie hanging from her waist and was diligently explaining the 3D sales model to a customer.
"Gordon, how's Emma doing lately? Just between us, tell me the truth."
Gordon replied, "Ms. Emma might have been struggling last month. She didn't sell a single property. But this month she's doing great, and she sold three in one week. She's originally from PR, so she's good with words. I believe she'll get better and better. You don't have to worry about her."
Ines was happy with her performance, "How's she getting along with her colleagues?"
Gordon answered, "At first, people might not have liked her much, but it seems to have improved recently. I often see her eating with other employees in the cafeteria, so it seems alright."
Ines nodded, not probing further. She left to check on other sales offices, and realizing it was lunchtime, she found a restaurant near Emma's workplace and gave her a call. Emma arrived quickly. She looked around cautiously as she entered, making sure no one familiar was around before she relaxed.
"Why are you so careful eating with me now?" Ines asked with a smile.
"Of course, I'm just a regular salesperson now. If people knew about my relationship with you, whatever I achieve in the future will be questioned. I don't want my efforts to go unrecognized." she said that her goal was to be recognized by others.
Ines shook her head with a smile, "Alright, whatever you say."
