At first, Ivy was pretty resistant to formula milk, but after a while, she had no choice but to take it. The little munchkin's appetite started to pick up too, and she could have breast milk in the morning and evening, while she drank formula milk at other times. Ines was less worried then, although she did miss her two babies a lot when she was at work. She and Ethan got some photos taken of them, had them sorted out into an album, and also put one on her office desk.
The photo showed the two little pumpkins lying head to head, struggling to lift their heads, mouths wide open in a grin. They looked like two adorable puppies. Seeing them like this melted Ines' heart. They were just too cute.
Just then, there was a knock at the door and Herschel walked in. "Madam, this is the contract from that foreign raw material supplier. They've sent a representative to negotiate this time. Do you need to be there?"
Ines took the contract from Herschel with a smile, "Herschel, you can call me by my name, no need to be so formal."
"In the office, we should keep it professional. We can be more casual outside of work." Herschel insisted.
Ines didn't argue. She had always felt that the Galeana Group's business was too single-minded, so she wanted to branch out into raw materials. This way, she could control the quality of building materials to reduce costs, and expand the industry chain to diversify. But the Galeana Group didn't have enough funds to set up their own building materials factory, and they had to look for partners who were interested in developing together.
Ines skimmed the contract, frowning slightly, "So they want a 70-30 split in their favor?"
Herschel nodded, "That's what's written in the contract, but I've contacted them and they've said that everything is open for further discussion. They might be willing to give us some discounts."
"Well then, I'll leave it to you. I trust you."
"You're not going?"
"No, I can't. I have plans tonight."
Seeing the look on Ines' face, Herschel knew she had a date with Ethan.
After work, Ethan came to pick up Ines. It had been a while since they had had dinner together, just the two of them.
As soon as Ines walked in, she bumped into a man. Ethan immediately went to help her up, "Are you okay, Izzy?"
Ines felt a slight pain in her shoulder, but it wasn't too bad. She shook her head, "I'm fine."
Before Ines could get up, she heard the man say in a drunken slur, "Leila, aren't you supposed to be dead? How are you here?"
The familiar voice made Ethan frown. He looked up and, sure enough, it was someone he knew. "Jake, watch your words. This is my wife."
A man named Jake rubbed his eyes and walked toward Ines, reaching out to touch her face. Ethan quickly blocked his hand and pushed it away, "Jake, you're drunk. If you don't want to embarrass yourself in front of me, leave now."
