When Ines got off work, it was still Watson who came to pick her up. As they passed a shopping mall, Ines suddenly wanted to buy two hats for their kids. They were growing so fast and in the morning, she noticed their hats were getting too small and must have been getting uncomfortable to wear.
Ines, being a busy woman, didn't have the patience to stroll around. She went straight into a baby clothing store, picked up a few hats, and came out. She also bought a pair of shoes for Jasmine while she was there.
As she came out, she had an odd feeling that someone was following her but she couldn't see anyone when she turned around. She quickened her pace and the person behind her did the same. It seemed like the person was following her closely.
Ines got more and more anxious. Luckily, it was rush hour and there were a lot of people in the mall. She tried to blend in with the crowd while making her way to the mall entrance. She called Watson and asked him to bring the car to the mall entrance. Even after leaving the mall, Ines' heart was still pounding. Spotting Watson's car parked by the road, she quickly got in and said in a flustered tone, "Watson, drive fast. I think someone is following me."
At her words, Watson went into alert mode. Ethan handpicked him, not just as a driver but also as a bodyguard. "Are they still following you?"
"I don't know about now, but they were following me in the mall. I felt them behind me even when I was at the entrance."
Watson nodded. "Madam, don't panic. We will try to stick to the main roads and avoid the alleys."
"Okay."
Just as Watson started driving, he noticed a black car that seemed to be following them. The car followed them every time they changed lanes. At this point, they could confirm that they were being followed. The other party seemed determined to tail them closely and almost hit their car several times.
Ines also saw the car in the rearview mirror. She couldn't help but call Ethan. As soon as the call connected, Ines said, "Ethan, Watson and I are being followed. There's a car behind us and I don't know what they want."
Ethan was still in the office. He stood up abruptly when he heard Ines' words, "What happened?"
"I don't know. Someone was following me when I was at the mall and they are still following us after we got into the car." Ines furrowed her brows, thinking about what she heard last night. This could be related to Silvia.
"Where are you now? I'm coming."
Ines checked her location and said, "We're on Sixth Avenue. We're still quite far from the Galeana family."
"Okay, have Watson drive to a crowded place. I'm coming."
Ines felt a lump in her throat. She held her bag tightly, and her fingertips were turning white. She said softly, “Ethan, be careful and stay safe.”
“Izzy, don’t be afraid. Keep the call on speaker. I’ll be there soon.”
“Okay.” As Ethan was talking on the phone, he left his office. Lucas didn’t know what happened but he followed closely behind Ethan. Ethan suddenly put down the phone and said to Lucas, “Lucas, call the Sixth Avenue police station right away. Tell them Izzy is being followed around there and ask them to send someone."
Lucas didn't dare to delay and made the call while walking.
