Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 478

Ethan was busy entertaining his two little ones, so he didn’t hear the conversation between Erica and Lionel. After a while, he felt a gaze on him. Then he looked up to see Ines standing in front of them. He couldn’t help but say to the two babies in his arms, “Babies, say ‘Mama’.”

As soon as Ethan spoke, the twins called out “Dada” again. Little Ivy even hugged Ethan’s neck tightly, planting a wet kiss on his face, and then buried herself in his neck with a low laugh.

With his daughter’s enthusiasm, Ethan couldn’t help but return the favor, pressing a kiss onto Ivy’s chubby little cheek. Their back-and-forth kisses left Ines feeling left out.

Ines, feeling a little jealous, huffed and took little Oliver into her own arms. The little guy pouted. Only after Ines glared at him did he obediently stay in her arms. He stared at her with his innocent eyes that looked similar to Ethan’s.

Ines sighed. She felt that her two babies were anything but easy, always acting cute and sweet.

Ethan was completely immersed in his play with Ivy, and Ivy was also a little drama queen. Every time she called out “Dada,” it brought Ethan immense joy. Each time she said “Dada,”, he would respond. Their laughter filled the living room.

Ashley couldn’t stand it anymore. She couldn’t help but remind Ethan, “Ethan, if you keep laughing like this, you might find yourself sleeping on the couch tonight.”

Ethan’s laughter faltered. He instinctively looked towards Ines. Indeed, she was pouting, which was a clear sign that she was not happy.

Ethan raised an eyebrow. He belatedly realized that he had been so focused on bonding with Ivy, and had neglected his wife. His wife was always a little jealous, so she must be feeling left out now.

“Ivy, quickly call out ‘Mama’. Mama hasn’t seen you all day and she misses you.” Ethan gently nudged his daughter’s chubby cheek.

But Ivy just looked at Ines, and then turned her head back, burrowing into Ethan’s arms.

“Is my little girl shy?” Ethan rubbed his daughter’s cheek with his chin.

Ines glared at Ethan. “Ethan, you did this on purpose.”

What? Ethan furrowed his eyebrows. “Izzy, what are you talking about? I don’t understand.”

Ines turned her head away, ignoring Ethan.

“Ethan, it seems your little sweetheart has you wrapped around her finger. You’ve been so distracted, you haven’t noticed that your darling daughter and son only know how to call ‘Dada’, not ‘Mama’.” Ashley initially didn’t want to explain, thinking it was fun to watch their small family of four bickering, but she was stunned by Ethan’s lack of understanding. He couldn’t even grasp such a simple thing.

“That’s not possible. When I taught them, I taught them ‘Dada’ and ‘Mama’ together. It doesn’t make sense that they can only call ‘Dada’ and not ‘Mama’,” Ethan frowned, telling the truth.

This made Ines even angrier. She stomped off to the yard, carrying little Oliver.

Ashley burst into laughter, clutching her belly. Ethan glared at her helplessly. “Stop gloating. Your turn will come.”

Ashley coughed lightly. “Ethan, you better go after her.”
