Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 480

Ethan could tell that Ines was upset. He reached out, pulled her into his arms and gently kissed her on the cheek. “Izzy, what’s gotten you all riled up this early? Who’s pissed you off?” Ines knew Ethan had been short on sleep lately, so she didn’t bother him with her troubles. She snuggled back into his embrace, finding a comfortable spot. “Darling, you go back to sleep. It’s nothing big. We’ll talk about it after you have a good rest.”

Ethan’s voice was throaty and low. “Hmm, stay with me a little longer.”

After a while, Ines fell asleep again in Ethan’s arms. They had both been having restless nights. When they woke up again, the daylight was streaming through the windows. As soon as Ines opened her eyes, Ethan was already awake. He quickly rolled over, pinning her beneath him. His kisses overwhelmed her. Ethan’s scent was all around her, which was something Ines had grown accustomed to. She wrapped her arms around his neck, responding to his affections.

After their kiss ended, Ines giggled softly in Ethan’s arms. His fingers were gently running through her hair.

Once their breaths slowed, Ethan carried Ines straight into the bathroom. She happily wrapped her arms around Ethan’s neck, pressing her face against his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat, which always gave her a sense of security.

After freshening up, Ethan remembered Ines had been upset about something when she woke up. He couldn’t resist asking, “Izzy, what’s wrong?”

“It’s just some people’s shamelessness.” Ines picked up her phone and handed it to Ethan. “Just look at this news article. Russel’s ability to twist the truth is truly astounding.”

Ethan skimmed the article and agreed it was ludicrous. However, he knew an investigative team was on the case and Russel’s downfall was inevitable. He wasn’t bothered by these petty annoyances.

Ethan handed the phone back to Ines. “Izzy, don’t get upset over this nonsense. He’s probably the most panicked out of anyone. Let him be. All we need to do is to cooperate with the investigation.”

“That’s true. No need to get upset over such matters.”

Ethan glanced at the weather outside. It was a cooler day with a light breeze, perfect for a day out. “Izzy, it’s the weekend. How about we take the kids out for a stroll? I don’t think we’ve ever done that as a family.”

Ines’ eyes lit up. “That sounds great! But with two little ones, we probably won’t hang out long. They’re growing so fast and getting so heavy.”

“Silly girl, we won’t have to carry them the whole time. We can bring Camela and Moria along, and push the stroller when we need to.”

“That could work. The kids are quite a handful lately. If it were just us two, it might be more difficult.”

In the morning, the sun was still gentle. Ethan dressed his daughter in a cute pink princess dress, and his son in a simple T-shirt and jeans, topped with a cool little hat. They were such a sight to behold.

After getting ready, the family set out for a day of shopping.

Upon reaching the mall, Ines told Camela and Moria to browse around. She would call them when they were tired of carrying the kids.
