Burn the Marriage, Keep the Crown novel Chapter 122

But William couldn't shake the memory of that day at the hotel. Serena had been talking to her grandfather about how to restore a vase, her face alight with excitement.

He had never seen Serena so animated.

It was as though she was meant to be like that.

William's clenched hand relaxed as clarity filled his deep eyes.

"There's a side door over there. You take Serena and go. I'll stay behind to hold off Frederick."

"Mr. Grayson!"

William's voice suddenly turned sharp, "Go!"

Having been with William for so many years, Finn knew his temperament too well. He took a deep breath, turned, and grabbed Serena's arm. "Miss Sullivan, let's go."

Serena was momentarily stunned before Finn pulled her towards a side door.

This direction didn’t lead to the car.

Serena asked, "Where are we going?"

Finn replied, "We'll figure it out once we're out of the hotel."

Serena, being pulled along, could only strive to keep up.

Turning her head, she saw William suddenly stop, and her concern showed, "Will William be alright?"

Finn gritted his teeth, "He should be. Mr. Grayson is Young Master William. Mr. Foster has to consider the Grayson family's reputation."

Reassured, Serena ran even harder.

The wind rushed against her face.

She could almost smell the scent of freedom.

Behind them, William suddenly halted, blocking the doorway.

Frederick's men recognized William's status and hesitated, stopping their advance.

Frederick understood William's intent.

He furrowed his brow. "I've set a trap outside the hotel. Not even a fly could escape. Your stalling won't work."
