Can't Get Away With You novel Chapter 5

He strode upstairs to find his phone to call Lois, but no one answered even he tried several times.

This bad woman! Do you think you can make me compromise because of Maggie! Joey ordered the servant to take the doctor to the guest room. Suppressing his anger, he went downstairs and drove away from the villa.

He had a clear mind. According to the carefulness of Lois, she would definitely find that Maggie had a fever and she would take the child to the hospital. He drove to the nearest hospital while calling Lois tirelessly.

As soon as the car stopped at the pediatric hospital, Lois answered the phone.

Joey asked, "where did you go with my daughter! Do you know the baby is sick? "

"It's none of your business where we are. I'll ask the lawyer to talk to you about the divorce tomorrow."

Lois didn't want to talk to him. When she was about to hang up the phone, he said, "I want to see Maggie. It's a father's right!"

"XX hospital." Leaving the address, Lois hung up the phone.

Joey turned around and went to that hospital. When he arrived at the ward, he happened to see a nurse pulling out the injector from Maggie's body.

He looked at the sharp needle and found that Lois was biting her lips and her eyes were red. With a pale face, Maggie reached out her little hand to wipe the tears on her face. "Mom, don't cry. Maggie doesn't hurt..."

Lois sobbed and apologized to Maggie while hugging her.

"Dad..." Maggie called Joey in a soft voice as she saw him, but the little girl's big eyes became dim, without the spirit of the past.

When Lois raised her eyes, she saw that Joey was still angry. She sneered in her heart, 'what's wrong? Is that because we ruined your date with Sally Lu and make you unhappy?'?

It was disgusting to come here as if everyone owed him!

"What are you doing here?" Her voice was full of dislike.

Without waiting for Joey's answer, Lois tightened her grip on Maggie and said to herself, "it doesn't matter what my daughter is like. Anyway, you have never been a good father. Let's get together and break up peacefully. I will never let you look down upon my daughter again!"

Joey had never been treated so coldly by Lois. He felt aggrieved and depressed.

He suppressed the unspeakable depression in his heart and warned Lois, "you'd better give up the idea of taking Maggie away. As long as I'm alive, your idea will never come true."

Lois didn't want to talk more in front of the child, and it was useless to argue. She gently patted on the back of Maggie and said, "no one knows what will happen in the future. Let's wait and see."

Maggie couldn't resist the call of the God of sleep, so she fell asleep slowly.

Joey's phone rang. Looking at the caller ID, he was inexplicably irritable. He didn't want to cause any accident when Lois tried to divorce him, but he couldn't refuse Sally.

He had planned to answer the phone outside the ward, but when he looked up and saw the faint smile on Lois's face, he felt that he was very confident.

He stood still and answered the phone. Sally's voice came through, "Joey, how's Maggie? Do you need me to take care of her? "

The ward was too quiet. Sally's voice hit everyone's eardrum. Maggie didn't sleep well, and she frowned as if she was in great pain.
