Chapter 0163
Did he want to ruin her?
As Shihua zoned out, a figure appeared before her.
“What are you doing here?”
There stood Michael, the very picture of professional decorum, and beside him, Evel, dressed almost like an assistant.
Michael was the questioner; Evel, the recorder.
“Ms. Shihua,” Michael began with a smirk, “as the plaintiff’s attorney, I have some questions for you.”
Shihua knew Michael’s character well-opportunistic, scheming.
“I won’t say anything. Ethan will regret doing this to me.”
Michael, unsurprised by her response, pressed on, “Sometimes even I can’t understand where you get the confidence, thinking Ethan would ever be with you?”
a
His words seemed designed to provoke her, “We’ve known each other a long time, so let’s cut to the chase. To be frank, aside from small measure of professional success, you really have no redeeming qualities. Like, your blind self-assurance.”
Shihua’s gaze was as sharp as knives, fixed on Michael.
After a pause, she laughed, “Are you here to avenge Madison? I don’t get it. How can you think she’s right for Ethan after knowing her for such a short time? How have I wronged you? What am I lacking? Why won’t he give me a chance?”
“And why should he give you a chance?”

Michael was blunt, his words razor-sharp, “What gives you the right to demand anything from Ethan? Have you brought him any benefits? Does he owe you anything? You’re just acquaintances. You think too highly of yourself.”
“And your little stunt with the registration form? You think nobody knows? You let others misunderstand your relationship with Ethan and didn’t clarify. You’re too cunning, and every bit of that cunning reeks of malice. Ethan would have to be blind to like you.”
Each word was like a dagger, stabbing viciously at Shihua.
Shihua jabbed a finger at him, her eyes terrifying.
Michael shrugged, “Alright then. Since you show no remorse, I’ll see you in court.”
Soon after, Michael and Evel left the interrogation room.
Shihua watched their retreating figures, her gaze laced with dark
omens.
“So, how did it go?”
Michael asked Evel anxiously as they exited.
Evel removed the quintessential black-framed glasses of a secretary, “I’ve seen many murderers.”
Michael was puzzled. He had seen his fair share too.
Evel continued, “Those psychopathic killers, they all had the same look in their eyes that she just did.”
Fierce, vicious, toxic.
Michael’s face grew solemn, “What do we do? A villain is far worse than a straightforward adversary. So annoying.”

Stepping out of the police station, Evel suddenly halted.
“Hm?”
Evel grew serious, “Help me convince the boss to let me go, I can make her disappear without a…”
She paused, struggling to recall the newly learned idiom.
“…a trace.”
“Whoa!”
Michael instantly clamped his hand over her mouth, hissing a
warning, “This is the doorstep of a domestic police station, not some lawless land abroad! How dare you speak such words? Are you out of your mind?”
Evel slapped his hand away with a stern expression, “The ones who should be worrying about their lives right now are you.”
Pointing at the police station’s gate, she added, “When she comes out, she’ll go after you.”
“Are you sure?” Michael wasn’t entirely convinced Shihua would dare
act.
