Chapter 14 Being Beaten

Tina worked hard this afternoon and made countless phone calls, all of which came to nothing.

She had thought about calling her "connections" before but gave the idea up after a second thought. After all, there was no need to give them a chance to humiliate her.

Alice was an owner of a bar, but it was not dark yet, so the bar shouldn't have been so lively now.

Tina asked a few more questions. But before hearing Alice's response, she heard screams on the phone.

"Alice?"

Tina called her name several times in a row, but the latter hung up the phone.

The bar Alice ran was named Golden Club, which was one of the best in Xesxia. Moreover, she had a powerful backer, so common people should not have dared to make trouble for her.

Tina felt a little worried, so she took a taxi to Golden Club.

It was getting late, and the lights were on. There were many entertainment venues near Golden Club, so she saw luxury cars everywhere. The happiness of the rich was ostentatious.

Tina got out of the car and quickly walked into Golden Club. She had been to this place several times before, so the waiters at the gate knew her.

"Miss Lynd, long time no see."

When Tina walked in with the waiter under the dim light, she found everything was tidy. And a singer was singing quietly on stage. It seemed no one had made trouble here.

"I'm here to meet Alice. Where is she?"

As soon as Tina finished asking, she looked up and saw Alice standing in the crystal corridor on the second floor. So, she secretly felt relieved.

Seeing Tina from above, Alice said something to the man beside her and then walked down the spiral staircase.

"Why did you come here?"

Alice was a little surprised to her because she disliked this kind of place.

Tina shook her phone and said, "I called you just now and heard something weird. So, I thought you got in trouble."
