Mrs. Grant suddenly froze and asked Marshall confusedly, “What happened, Marshall?”
Marshall sneered, “What are you going to do next? Are you going to announce that I love Clara and would marry her immediately?”
Mrs. Grant frowned, “What is this supposed to mean? You think that I should stay out of your business?”
“Right, you should long do that.”
Mrs. Grant took a deep breath and smiled, “So you are also blaming me, huh? Just like your father and grandmother. You all think that I’m the one who made this thing a mess. Well, it’s all fault. I should’ve just let you mess around with the kind of person like Katherine and let her drag you down...”
“What kind of person?” Marshall directly interrupted Mrs. Grant’s words, “What kind of person is Katherine exactly?”
Mrs. Grant glared, “What kind of person? I have to tell you that? Don’t you know what kind of family she comes from? If it weren’t for your grandfather who forced you to marry her, she would have just ended up marrying a farm boy and led a tedious life.”
Marshall also smiled and stared at Mrs. Grant, “If grandma and grandpa didn’t provide such a wealthy upbringing for you, do you think which part of you would be better than Katherine?”
Mrs. Grant paused and looked at Marshall unbelievably.
Actually, Marshall realized that he had said the wrong words.
But he was just feeling agitated inside and wanted to vent out.
Then he continued, “The reason that you are feeling superior is just because you born into a great family. Do you think you would have what you have now if you didn’t?”
Mrs. Grant gazed at Marshall and got tongue-tied.
Marshall let out a deep breath, “Have you ever thought about what kind of admirable things you have achieved in your life except for marrying my father? Do you even know what all my aunties are saying about you? Or do you know how the maids are seeing you? You can well judge other people till you get to know all that.”
Marshall then just went upstairs with the suitcase.
While he passed the room next to his bedroom, Marshall stopped.
Katherine had lived in this room for a couple of days before she had a fight with Mrs. Grant.
Marshall pushed the door open and looked inside.
All the items in the room had been changed.
The beddings, fluffy carpet on the floor and the dressing table were all gone.
Mrs. Grant must have ordered the maids to do this.
Marshall felt much shitter and just went back to his own room.
He put the suitcase aside and sat on the bed.
He really didn’t feel like reading all those stuff online. He was trashed terribly anyway.
Marshall waited for a while and got Khalid’s call. The Grants company had issued a statement and explained that his relationship with Clara was just business partners and as for the photo circulating online, it was just that Clara leaned towards him automatically because she was scared by a car crash. There was nothing going on between them.
Well, naturally, netizens didn’t really buy this story.
They just assumed that there was something unusual between them and can’t be persuaded.
So that Khalid wanted Marshall to contact Katherine and ask if she could help to clarify things.
She was also a part of this accident, so if she could come forward and explain for Marshall, it could be helpful.
Marshall pinched at the phone and said, “I’ll ask her later. I’m feeling tired now and wanted to take a rest.”
