Kyle continued, “I saw Marshall’s mother driving by herself, stopped at the entrance of a park, got out and entered the park.”
What was there to say about this? Katherine didn't say anything.
Kyle then added, “I looked at her carefully for a moment, and it seemed that his mother was crying, wiping her tears as she walked.”
Katherine turned her head to look at Kyle, “You must be wrong, she’s crying?”
What did she have to cry about? Was it because she paid someone to set Katherine up but failed, and she's crying because she's angry?
Geez, that would be hilarious.
Kyle thought about it and turned his head to also look at Katherine, “I think I’m right. Could it be possible that Marshall told his family what happened when he got home after leaving from here, and his family reprimanded his mother, so she cried?”
Katherine shook her head and washed vegetables with running water, “No, I know his mother better than you. Besides, those in the Grant family are reasonable, they can’t say anything harsh, and his mother won’t give a shit about it.”
Kyle can't understand, “But I saw it, she’s really in a bad mood.”
Mrs. Grant should have driven herself, stopped at the park entrance and entered the park alone.
She didn't look up much the whole time, kept her head down and wiped her tears, completely different from her usual self.
Katherine just waved her hand after thinking about it for a while, “I’m sick of talking about her. That woman is bound to come a cropper in the end.”
Her hands were covered with water, and as she waved her hands, the water flung onto Kyle's face.
Kyle dodged, “You're doing it on purpose.”
Katherine smiled and didn't care that much, took a tissue from the side and wiped his face haphazardly.
Kyle stared at Katherine, and the funny smile on his face slowly faded.
The expression on his face became flat, “Have I ever told you that you are very much like a person.”
Katherine was stunned, “No, like who?”
Kyle stared at Katherine, his eyes more and more focused, which made Katherine gave a shiver, “Don’t tell me that I look like your first love. You see the knife in my hand? I’m not able to control myself.”
Kyle shook his head, “No, not my first love.”
He lowered his head and put the peeled garlic on a small plate, then washed his hands, “I’m gonna show you a picture.”
He wiped his hands clean with his apron and then took his phone out of his pocket.
There were not many apps on Kyle’s phone. Although he looked like a playboy, his phone was clean.
Kyle opened his phone album and clicked out a photo to show Katherine.
He pointed to the woman in the middle and said, “Look how much you two look alike.”
Katherine frowned and looked at the picture on the phone, which should have been taken against a photo.
There’s quite a lot of people inside, a man and a woman sitting in the middle, the woman holding a child in her arms, and four children of different sizes standing beside the man and the woman.
Katherine looked up at Kyle after a while, “Is this a family portrait?”
Kyle nodded his head, “Just one.”
Katherine took another look at the photo.
The woman Kyle was pointing at should be his mother. She had never heard anyone mention Kyle's mother, and when she went to the Haverford’s house, she only old Mr. Haverford.
Katherine thought for a while, “Do we look alike? I don't think so.”
In fact, they didn’t look similar, probably of the same age, but their features were not at all the same.
Kyle, however, nodded his head directly, “Yes, I think you two are very similar.”
Katherine pursed her lips and nodded her head after a while, “Well, maybe we really have something in common. It’s just I’m too familiar with my face, so can’t see it.”
Kyle put his phone back, “The first time I saw you, I thought you were very much like her.”
Katherine smiled. She originally wanted to ask how his mother was now but held back the words.
She had never met old Mrs. Haverford, perhaps old Mrs. Haverford had passed away.
