The message from Marshall came just as Khalid and Mrs. Grant were coming over.
So she didn't read it.
Now that everything was over, she tapped the message open.
Marshall didn’t say anything important, only said to come over to her later and there were some things to discuss with her specifically.
Katherine didn’t think there’s anything he and she needed to discuss. It seemed that they had said pretty much everything they need to say.
She deleted the message and then looked at Kyle, “You eat quickly and go home when you're done. I’m gonna take a nap.”
Kyle took his tableware and said, “Alright, I see.”
He was not stupid and knew that Marshall must have said something in the message, so Katherine found an excuse to send him away.
However, Kyle was not very interested in what Marshall and Katherine were going to talk about next.
He cleaned up a little after the meal, and told Katherine to close the doors and windows before he left.
Katherine was a little impatient and responded with a nasal sing-song voice.
Only then did Kyle swagger away.
Waiting for Kyle to leave, Katherine hurriedly took her phone over and sent a message to Hector.
It’s nothing important, she just wanted to ask about old Mrs. Haverford.
She went out and plopped down on the sofa with the TV on, her two legs crossed up and wiggled. She was sending messages to Hector while watching TV.
Hector quickly replied to the message. In fact, he didn't know much about the Haverford family's affairs.
He said that Mrs. Haverford passed away in a car accident when Kyle was less than two years old.
So technically, Kyle had no memory of his mother.
Katherine cupped her phone and took a long time before replying to Hector with an “OK”.
Kyle said she and his mother looked alike, but she really did not feel that way.
She put the phone down and wondered, was it because of this that Kyle was extra nice to her?
Kyle always looked bright and shiny, it turned out that he also had such a big regret in his life.
Katherine sighed.
When Marshall came over, the living room door was closed. He went over and tried his fingerprints, naturally failed.
This woman always missed this and that, but remembered to delete his fingerprints clearly every time.
Katherine heard the sound and went over to open the door, “What's the matter, what do you have to tell me?”
Marshall first looked around the house, and then spoke, “Did my dad and my mom just stop by?”
“Yes.” Katherine turned around and went to sit on the sofa, “Your mother said she was coming over to apologize to me, but it didn’t look like that way. I thought she was here to teach me a lesson personally because that man she hired failed the mission.”
Marshall didn’t know what to say. His mother was very stubborn, even if she said she was wrong, she would never admit it in her heart.
He was silent for a while, went to sit in front of Katherine, “I promised you before, you help me to muddle through stuff in WF Group, I’ll give you whatever you want, as long as I can get it. I keep my word, you can say it now.”
Katherine raised her eyes to look at Marshall, but did not immediately speak.
So he came over for this.
Marshall thought she did not get him, so he repeated, “Anything you want, money? Or a fixed asset?”
Katherine smiled with her head low, fondling the pillow next to her somewhat unconsciously, “There’s no need. I did try to blackmail you back then, but I thought about it later, the money you gave me when we divorced was enough for the rest of my life. I can’t use up the money if I ask for too much, and then it will be just a number to me. So, I don’t want money.”
She slowly looked up at Marshall, “So I’ll change a request. Marshall, what I want, is that I don’t want to have any involvement with you in the future. How’s that? I do think it's good, it's good for both of us.”
