CEO Proposed to His Ex-wife 99 Times novel Chapter 294

Marshall looked at old Mrs. Grant but she didn’t look him back, so he wasn’t able to find what’s hidden in her eyes.

Marshall waited for a while before saying, “Old Mrs. Walters is a friend of Grandma’s, right?”

“Yes, she is. But recently we have had less interaction, as you know, we are getting old and do not like walking around anymore.” Old Mrs. Grant lamented.

Old Mrs. Walters was a bit older than Old Mrs. Grant, her health was naturally not as good as Old Mrs. Grant’s, and she was now almost recuperating at home.

Marshall continued, “Will Grandma be there?”

Old Mrs. Grant laughed, “Of course I’ll be there. I asked you because I want to take you there with me.”

Marshall kept his head down and continued eating, “I’ll check my schedule.”

When he said that, it actually meant he was willing to go.

Old Mrs. Grant smiled, “Well, let me know by then.”

Neither of them spoke next.

Marshall did not eat much, and put down the knife and fork after a while.

When old Mrs. Grant saw this, she also put down her chopsticks, “You can go upstairs when you’re done, I’m gonna rest downstairs for a while.”

Marshall nodded and got up to go out of the dining room.

He slowly made his way back to his room.

He didn’t know why, but he felt tired, for no reason.

But actually, he didn't do anything today.

Marshall walked around in the room for a moment and turned to go out.

This time he went to his father's room.

Khalid was lying on the bed, looking at his cell phone, which looked really very leisurely.

Seeing Marshall, Khalid sat up at once, “What's wrong, something's up?”

Marshall shook his head and went over to sit on the couch at the end of the bed, “I just wanna talk to you for a sec.”

Marshall was never the talking kind of person, so Khalid put the phone down, “What do you want to talk about? Is there something you want to ask me?”

Marshall chuckled with a muffled voice, “Sort of.”

He thought for a moment before speaking, “Is it hard for you to divorce my mother?”

Khalid froze, supposedly not expecting Marshall to ask him this.

He frowned slightly and thought for a moment before saying, “I can’t say that it’s not hard, but not that hard.”

Perhaps his life was somewhat depressing for so many years, so he instead had a feeling of being out of the misery.

He just felt so relieved, like he had finally escaped from suffering.

Marshall thought for a moment, “You and mom, married for almost thirty years, right?”

“Yeah.” Khalid sighed, “Your mother and I have been supported each other for the last thirty years, so I'm not used to it yet after leaving her all of a sudden. But you know your mother, I think this outcome is inevitable. So it’s better we keep it that way.”

Marshall knew what his father meant.

But he just wanted to figure one thing out, “Grandma told me that when you and my mother got married, you didn’t actually like each other.”

Khalid smiled, “Your Grandma does talk to you about everything.”

He didn't know if it was really because he was relaxed or what, he opened up and told Marshall, “The first five years of our marriage were filled with arguments and fights, and it wasn't until five years later that life was peaceful. And I think that we had that connection four or five years after getting married.”

“Four or five years, that long.” Marshall chanted it softly.

“You bet.” Khalid continued, “This may take a little longer than normal. In our time, some people got married, and developed feelings slowly, but your mother and I are the exceptions. Your mother got a not-so-good temper, so it’s really so hard for me to build a good relationship with her.”

After saying that, Khalid laughed uproariously.

He looked like he's really not depressed by the impending divorce in this way.

He looked like he couldn't stop being happy.

Marshall’s expression on his face became serious, slowly frowned.
