Kyle never liked waiting. So after he sent the message, he directly dialed the voice call over after thinking for a while.
Marshall hadn't really reached out to him much before.
This time it was kind of surprised him.
Marshall picked up and said hi.
Kyle leaned back in his chair, “Why are you asking me that all of a sudden? What, you're going there too? Are you planning to be my date? That’s not a good idea, I’m totally straight. I got my date, you'd better find someone else.”
Marshall was wondering how to ask him, he said it all himself.
So Marshall asked, “You got a date? Who?”
Kyle hummed, “Don't get upset when I say it.”
Marshall already knew the answer when Kyle said so.
He sneered a bit, “Is it Katherine? She said yes?”
Kyle laughed, “Of course. All I have to do is ask. My relationship with her is not something you can imagine.”
Marshall said in a flat tone, “Is it?”
But Kyle didn’t notice anything and continued to say, “We're really close. Katherine and I have much in common, and she treats me as a friend. Last time, your second uncle's birthday, she took a tea set from me to your second uncle. See, we’re not just friends, we’re family.”
Marshall paused and said, “That tea set is yours.”
“Of course it’s mine. Where else can you get something that good?” Kyle said proudly.
He then asked, “You saw that too, right? I gave that to her willingly, and she took it. See, we’re not just normal friends.”
Kyle told Marshall that he had a real good relationship with Marshall’s ex-wife and he didn’t feel it strange at all.
Marshall smiled over the phone.
Although Kyle looked more intimate with Katherine than Hector but was even less suspect.
That’s just the way Kyle was.
Not wanting to continue talking about it, Marshall asked Kyle what time he planned to go over with Katherine that day.
He had heard that the birthday banquet of old Mrs. Walters lasted all day.
It ran from morning until evening, and there was a raffle.
Kyle hadn’t thought about it yet. But since Marshall asked, so he answered, “We should go over a little early, it seems not polite to go late.”
It's a surprise that Kyle can still pay attention to politeness.
Marshall nodded, “I see. Alright, that’s it then.”
Kyle yelled and stopped him, “Then why did you send me a message, not trying to team up with me?”
Marshall smiled, “You wish.”
After saying that he hung up the phone.
Kyle was still yelling over there.
The phone got hung up, but Kyle still held the phone, “Let’s do a little more chatting, we have nothing to do at this time anyway.”
Unfortunately, no one could answer him.
Marshall came downstairs the next morning and saw old Mrs. Grant and said he could go to the birthday banquet that day.
Old Mrs. Grant nodded, “Alright, we may have to go there early that day.”
Marshall nodded, “Okay.”
After having breakfast in silence with old Mrs. Grant, Marshall went to work.
He got a call from Clara on the way.
She didn't say anything else, only that an incoming document had been sent to him.
For something so trivial, she didn't have to call at all.
Marshall just replied with an “Uh-huh”.
But Clara did not hang up immediately, “Have you not arrived at the office yet?”
Marshall huh again and Clara then smiled, “You’re lucky than me, I’m already in the company. I worked overtime last night and now I have to come to the office early. I used to envy you guys like sitting in the office, but now I realize that it is really not easy for you guys.”
