Allison, who had returned to school with Finley, received a call from her mother. Her hands trembled as she said, “Look, another blind date! How horrible!”
Finley gloated.”I do welcome you to the world of wives. Answer the call now. Don’t be a coward.”
Allison reluctantly picked up the phone and said, “Mom…”
“Allison, did you offend Bryan?” Eliana sounded worried on the other end of the phone.
The Beardsley family was not so influential as the Turner family. Life wouldn’t be so easy for whoever offended Bryan.
“No! Mom, why did you ask?”
“I just saw Bryan, and he wished you to get married as soon as possible. Never has he asked about you or the private affairs of our Beardsley family.”
“Ah… I see. Mom, everything will be fine. Don’t worry.”
Allison hung up the phone.
Smiling, Allison looked at Finley and said, “Finley, do you know what Mr. Turner said to my mother today?”
“What?” Finley felt a lump im her throat at the mention of Bryan. She became unhappy.
It had been a sleepless night for Finley last night.
“He urged my mother to get me married as soon as possible. Do you know why he said that?”
“He won’t blame you for my staying at your place last night, will he?” Finley made a bold guess.
“Yes, that’s it. Mr. Turner is jealous even if I am a girl. Hmph, things will get worse in the future.” Allison shook her head. She felt goosebumps all over her body and didn’t dare to imagine the
horrible future.
Hearing this, Finley couldn’t help smiling happily.
