Jamie took a deep breath and said firmly, “The competition is about to start. I’ll rely on my expertise to make it to the end. Even if I don’t succeed, I’ll have no regrets.”
With those words, she turned and walked away, her determination unwavering.
As the match began, whispers rippled through the crowd, and judgmental stares followed her every move. The rumors surrounding her had painted her in an unfavorable light, and the disdain from the audience was palpable.
Jamie, however, paid no mind to the negativity. With legal codes in hand and confidence in her knowledge, she stepped onto the stage and began her defense, her voice calm and commanding as she addressed the mock case.
“During the altercation,” Jamie started, “evidence shows that the aggressor retained mobility and the ability to continue the attack. Miss Russell’s actions to neutralize the threat were necessary and should not be classified as excessive self-defense.”
Her delivery was poised, her argument well-structured, as she advocated passionately on behalf of her client.
Her opponent cleared his throat, a smirk on his face. “According to the forensic autopsy, the victim was likely incapacitated at the time Miss Russell continued her assault, which undeniably constitutes excessive force.”
Jamie remained composed. “Miss Russell is a petite woman, standing just under five foot three, while the aggressor was over six feet tall and significantly larger. Until she was certain the threat was neutralized, how could she afford to stop defending herself? Her actions were not motivated by malicious intent.”
Her words were firm and deliberate, exuding professionalism and expertise. The audience and judges began to take notice of her confidence and competence.
The opposing counsel hesitated briefly before countering. “Nonetheless, Miss Russell’s actions exceeded what was necessary, which is undeniable.”
