Chasing After My Beloved Wife novel Chapter 7

On the other end of the phone, a formal male voice rang out. Joye's body suddenly lost its strength, and she collapsed into the chair.

There was no trace of blood on her face. Her lips trembled as she said, "Come again? You must be lying!"

"I'm sorry. Please come to the embassy to do the paperwork for the aviation accident as soon as possible."

Her phone fell on the table, and her eyes turned red instantly.

It was impossible! Someone must be playing a prank on her, pretending to be from the embassy and making a phone call to trick her.

Or perhaps it was also a little trick that Shawn used to torture her and take revenge on her. Perhaps he wanted her to make a fool of herself in front of everyone.

She quickly picked up her phone and unlocked it with a shiver. Unwilling to give up, she opened the international news. Big red headlines with a string of words appeared in front of her, making her heart stop beating.

Shawn looked at her rapidly changing expression and furrowed his brows.

This woman had never been so fragile and embarrassed in front of him since she married him.

Even when he forced her again and again, she would remain proud. What was going on now?

"Give me your phone."

The secretary behind Shawn immediately handed him the phone. He checked the recent news, and his face changed when he saw its contents.

How could it be...

Joye stood up in a daze. She didn't care if she would still be the CEO of Leonard Group. All she wanted to do now was to confirm the truth behind the aviation accident. Maybe they had made a mistake…

But as soon as she started walking, her body shook violently, and she fell to the ground.

Shawn reacted very quickly. He grabbed her and pulled her into his embrace. There was a hint of worry and mixed feelings in his beautiful eyes as he slapped her pale cheeks with his big hand. "Joye, Joye!"

After a short period of unconsciousness, Joye opened her red eyes and looked at the face that was inches away from her, trembling all over.
