Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore) novel Chapter 857

Geoffrey looked intently at his ex-wife. After a long time, he went to the couch and sat down with his legs crossed, looking ever so relaxed and laid-back.

"You should know why I did what I did, shouldn't you?"

"She told the truth, which angered you. I didn't expect you to be so petty and unreceptive to truth coming from even your very own daughter."

Geoffrey's brows furrowed as anger burned in his chest.

He smirked. "Xyla, you should know this. If she weren't my daughter, do you really think she'd still be alive and well enough to complain to you? It's precisely because she's my daughter that she is still well and alive right now."

Xyla shook with anger. "Do you mean to say that she should in fact be grateful that you didn't kill her?"

"She's my daughter, but we're also divorced. Whatever I do, no one has the right to comment. What does Yvonne know? You've thoroughly spoiled her and made her a princess with a quick temper."

"Haha…" Xyla laughed. "I spoiled Vonnie? Or should I raise her in the way you raise Sebastian? Geoffrey Carter, you surely know better than I do the kind of person you are. I don't care how you treat your own son, but Vonnie is my daughter. I gave birth to and raised her. I'm warning you—if you dare touch so much as a finger of hers, I'll be nasty!"

Xyla had never flared up so fiercely before. Over the many years of their marriage, she had always been calm and collected.

Even when she divorced Geoffrey, she never failed to be calm and kept her temper in check.

This was Geoffrey's first time seeing Xyla so angry.

"In that case, you should tell Yvonne clearly not to provoke me and not judge her father's private life. Or else, I can't promise what will happen the next time."

"Geoffrey Carter! I want you to guarantee this!" Xyla said, raising her voice. "No matter what Vonnie wants to do, you'll never touch her. If you dare hurt her, I can't promise either what I will do to you!"
