A smile formed on my lips as I stared at Clara who was still sleeping peacefully on the bed.

I gently closed the door behind me before walking towards the bed and sitting down next to her.

“Why do you stress yourself so much?” I murmured to myself as I caressed her face. She always wanted to help others especially me and I just wished when she needed my help, I would be there to help her as well.

She groaned slightly before she slowly opened her eyes and stared up at me with those big hazel eyes that I loved so much.

I leaned down and placed a kiss on her nose before placing another one of her lips.

“Did I wake you?” I questioned softly and she shook her head.

“I was waiting for you to get back. Come lay down with me” She told me and I didn't need to be told twice before climbing into bed with her.

“I missed you” I murmured as I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her closer.

She let out a cute giggle as she stared up at me.

“You were only gone for an hour, Damon,” She murmured.

“Yet every minute felt like an hour to me whenever I'm away from you. Let's just stay in this room together, I don't need anyone or anything else but you” I told her as my arms tightened around her body.

“You know we can't. You'll become the Alpha King soon and…”

“If it's because of that then I'll renounce the throne then you and I could go far away from here and build a family together. Away from the drama, the danger, away from everything. That's the kind of life I want for you, our child and our future children. A peaceful life” I revealed and she went quiet for a while till she pulled away from my hold so she could stare at me properly.

She raised up her hand and I melted into her touch as she caressed my face.

“I would want that too but I want that peaceful life with everyone else and I know you would too. If we leave, what will happen to your family? The wolf race? We are about to go into war, Damon. What my uncle is planning, I can feel that it's going to be diabolical and we need to be ready for him and the rest. We need to start strategizing and we need to do it fast” She uttered and I frowned.

“But…”

“After we have won, then we can move away from here if that's what you really want but I don't want to give birth to our child in a world where he or she has to hide their identity or be who they're not. I want peace, Damon. We have to fight for that peace” She added and I knew she was right.

If it wasn't for my reputation, we wouldn't all be this mess. How was I going to fix it? It wouldn't be long now because the other supernatural beings decided to attack us as well as the human hunters. We need to be prepared.

“Spoken like a true Luna Queen. I love you so much” I murmured before slamming my lips on hers.

“I’ll always protect you no matter what” I murmured against her lips as I slowly climbed on top of her.

“How did your conversation with Dimitri go?” She questioned breathlessly as I took off her gown and I growled softly.

“Never mention another guy's name when I'm about to thrust into you, Clara” I muttered through clenched teeth before capturing one of her swollen nipples into my mouth making her cry out.
