Chapter 591 Pretending To Be Good
“Old Mr. Rapp, it’s that brat. My Ice Luna Machete is still in his possession. You must ensure justice is served on my behalf.”
Upon seeing the reinforcements arrive, Gilbert expressed his grievances with unparalleled sorrow and anger, yet his heart was filled with cold laughter.
In the previous episode at Vaughn’s promotion banquet, he was the one who provoked first. If Emrys had been killed at that time, it would have inevitably led to public criticism.
However, this time was different.
This time, it was Emrys who had committed murder and theft first, giving Gilbert ample reason to kill him.
Indeed.
It was indeed Emrys who had attempted murder and theft first.
Even though many things were clear to everyone, those outside could certainly guess that this was a trap set by Gilbert aimed at avenging the previous disrespect shown to him by Emrys.
However, it didn’t matter.
The crucial point was that Gilbert firmly believed Emrys had committed murder and theft. Thus, Emrys was indeed guilty of these crimes.
Just like those in high positions within the Martial Arts Alliance, most people cultivated their own private forces. As long as no evidence was found, it was as if it didn’t exist.
This was an unspoken rule.
It was very realistic.
It was also quite cruel.
Rowan’s gaze was icy cold, like a pair of ruthless shackles firmly fixed on Emrys. With an air of authority, he sternly said, “Emrys, Mr. Cunningham claims that you intended to kill him for his treasure. Do you admit to this crime?”
“One–sided remarks.”

Emrys‘ expression remained unchanged as he thrust the Ice Luna Machete into the
ground. He slowly said, “Would you believe me if I told you that Gilbert himself threw this worthless blade to me, with the sole purpose of framing me?”
Worthless blade?
Furious, Gilbert exclaimed, “My Ice Luna Machete was a gift from my father. Although its quality may not match Cillian’s sword, it’s not far behind. How dare you call it worthless?”
Emrys paid him no attention. Instead, he silently watched Rowan, then asked, “Do you believe it?”
Rowan’s gaze flickered.
In a moment, his face turned cold once again. He asked, “You claim that Mr. Cunningham has framed you. Do you have any evidence?”
“No.”
“Without evidence, how do you expect me to believe you?”
“Gilbert Emrys paused, finding the situation increasingly intriguing. He then spoke up. accused me of murder and theft, but that’s merely his personal allegation. Why don’t you ask him for evidence?”
Rowan glanced at Gilbert, quickly withdrew his gaze, and once again focused on Emrys.
“Before I arrived, I had already roughly understood the situation. Mr. Cunningham had been injured, and his Ice Luna Machete, by some twist of fate, ended up in your hands, so
“So stop your d*mn nonsense. If you want to be a jerk, don’t pretend to be a good person when one has done immoral things!”
Without any hesitation, Emrys rudely interrupted Rowan.
How could he not see it? Rowan was not trying to argue about right or wrong. It was clear that he was just looking for an excuse to deal with Emrys in a justified manner.
Wasn’t that just pretending to be a good person when one had done immoral things?
Emrys couldn’t be bothered to waste any more words with him.
He had spoken so much to him before, merely to test the waters, to see if this Rowan was

truly a reasonable person.
Looking at how things were progressing, Emrys knew it clearly wasn’t the case.
How disappointing.
