Chapter 821 Not Playing By The Book
This was exactly how Emrys was at the moment.
Just a moment ago, when he had made his move, Cameron had already sensed from his body, a distinct aura of the Golden Elixir Stage. As for whether his strength had declined, no one knew.
Cameron did not dare to take this risk lightly.
In the off chance that what Emrys said was true, that his golden elixir field was not shattered at all, and he was merely jesting, Cameron would be completely done for.
I got reckless again!
Cameron took a slap squarely, yet he didn’t dare to retaliate in the slightest. Instead, he just stood off to the side, silently rubbing his cheek.
Emrys chuckled, choosing to ignore the fool. He gently took Ninette’s hand and said, “Let’s go, Darling.”
“Right!
Ninette obediently nodded.
On their way back, Sylvia couldn’t help but ask again, “Emrys, did your golden elixir field really shatter?”
Clearly, she was also left bewildered by Emrys‘ earlier statement, which he had used to intimidate Cameron. For a moment, she couldn’t discern which of Emrys‘ words were true and which were false.
With an amused look, Emrys glanced at Sylvia, chuckling as he said, “Ms. Morris, you seem quite interested in this, don’t you?”
Whether his golden elixir field was shattered or not, in reality, had little to do with Sylvia. However, Sylvia seemed to care exceptionally about it, driven by nothing more than a touch of jealousy.
She probably would have preferred if Emrys‘ golden elixir had shattered.
The ways in which geniuses interact could be categorized into two types. The first was a mutual understanding and appreciation, a connection that could either foster friendship
1/3
or rivalry, regardless of their stance.
Another approach, which was the most common one, was jealousy.
The mutual jealousy and competition among geniuses.
Before Emrys came into the picture, Sylvia was one of the best among the younger generation of Mount Kushburn. To call her a prodigy was no exaggeration, which resulted in her having exceptionally high standards. The average man simply couldn’t catch her
eye.
It wasn’t until Emrys arrived in Mount Kushburn that Sylvia’s understanding of genius was completely overturned.
It turned out that Emrys was the true definition of a genius. Those who were once prideful prodigies of Mount Kushburn were nothing at all in the face of Emrys‘ cultivation talent.
What was even more infuriating was that Sylvia had already shown signs of making the first move, yet Emrys didn’t seem to be interested in her at all.
Sylvia, who had always been held on a pedestal since her childhood, had never experienced such a massive blow. Naturally, she harbored a hint of resentment and jealousy toward Emrys.
If Emrys‘ golden elixir had truly shattered, then Sylvia would feel slightly better about it.
These were all just harmless little schemes, devoid of any real malice.
Emrys saw right through her, his gaze filled with unspoken meaning as he stared at Sylvia. This immediately caused a flutter of panic in Sylvia’s heart, and she averted her eyes, stammering, “I–It’s nothing. I was just asking casually.”
“Oh, if it’s just a casual inquiry, then I really can’t be bothered to answer.”
Sylvia’s delicate fingers turned white from tension, as if countless tiny kitten claws were scratching at her heart. But she couldn’t find the words to argue, so she could only cast a sidelong glance at Emrys with her expressive eyes.
Why doesn’t this guy play by the book?
However, this move indeed had a firm grasp on Sylvia’s little schemes.
