Chosen By The Moon (Dylan) novel Chapter 434

Dylan POV

“Mark me!"

I screamed it over the many fighting body's and fell to my knees once more fighting the tears that threatened to fall, my head was hung low as I didn't think Josh had heard me, but I was wrong. Two feet quickly stopped directly in front of my exhausted body, I hadn't even had the chance to lift my head before king josh grabbed hold of my shoulders and lifted me up effortlessly. A loud cry escaped my mouth at the pressure he caused on my mangled arm.

"What did you say, mate?!" I flinched instantly feeling like the pathetic person I used to be when I was living with his grace. The unadulterated fear that used to consume my very soul flew through me as he held me up to his face. "You now want my mark? You, caused all this death, and at the end of the day, you have still given in. Just like I told you, you would." He spat it venomously as he spoke the very words that caused me to shatter. He was right in the end, I had killed so many people, not that it mattered, I wasn't planning to live with my guilt. "Even with my mark, you won't get out of punishments. If you weren't my mate I would have you hung from the gallows for your blatant disrespect."

Could he not see that I was dying? Even as I hung there in his grip, my breath wheezed. Even while my body dangled painfully off the ground, I fought for consciousness. I had to see him take his last breath, I had to see him die, before I succumbed to my own injuries. My sight might have been extremely blurry, and my blood loss was infinite, but I forced myself to stay breathing. My body was numb from pain, but my mind had one thing only running through it.

"Say it again, my queen… tell me how much you want my mark." I didn't want it, I would never want it, but this was the only way for the world to find peace, it was the only way to get him off Lewis.

I coughed and a string of blood followed, dripping down my chin slightly as I gasped for life.

"Just Mark me." I think I may have said half of my sentence silently and in my head, but the king still received my permission and he didn't need any other incentive.

He let his teeth elongate and smiled smugly at my half awake eyes. "I won't be making this painless for you." He roughly placed me down onto my feet and spun my body around so that my back now faced him, he stepped behind me, and inhaled my scent obviously, burying his face into my neck. I could hardly stay stood as my legs shook from under me. His arm snaked across my chest and forced my head to tilt to the side using my messy hair as his handle. "I have been waiting for this moment for so long… after today we will be tied together for eternity." I truly didn’t plan on living that long. I allowed My eyes to scrunch up in anticipation right before his teeth bit down on my flesh.
