Meanwhile, both Lorenzo and Jessica remained silent inside the car.
The air seemed to be frozen.
“Lorenzo, are you being mad?” Jessica asked with soft voice. She could tell from his face that he was in a bad mood.
“I am sure you can tell the answer.” With his eyes fixed forward, Lorenzo replied while driving.
“Listen, I don’t know your aunt is actually the chairwoman of the Training Institute. Nor do I know that Wilfred is your brother. I have met him before. But I didn’t know his name at that time.” Said Jessica.
“But you were working together.” Lorenzo took a glance at her.
He didn’t know when Wilfred reached Ameriart. Nor did he know what Wilfred was about to do.
“Wilfred started working in the Training Institute earlier than I did.” Jessica explained honestly.
“Were you familiar with each other?”
“No. All I knew was that he worked in the Institute. Besides that, I know nothing about him. I didn’t even know his name until a moment ago. I met him for a few times when he did me some favor.” Jessica never thought that there would be anything fishy about Wilfred.
However, Lorenzo kept frowning. He slightly squinted while sneering.
He knew well about Wilfred, who was known to be hard to reach among the upper class. Actually, Wilfred appeared much more aloof than Lorenzo. However, Jessica was such an exception that Wilfred was willing to help her more than once.
What a sudden change! Or perhaps such a change only occurred for the sake of Jessica.
What was more, he didn’t even tell her his name until a moment ago.
At the thought of that, Lorenzo suddenly speeded up.
The car, while the engine of which was modified, started galloping at full throttle.
“Ahhh!” Jessica’s heart almost skipped a beat.
Her face went pale while she was screaming with both hands clutching at the handle above her head.
“Lorenzo…slow down…please…I am gonna puke!”
However, Lorenzo simply ignored it. He kept driving at full speed, frowning heavily. A horrible expression appeared on his face.
“Lorenzo, there must be a misunderstanding. I know you are mad. But so am I. I didn’t even know that until I attended the banquet. I didn’t mean to deceive you! I did nothing wrong!”
“Listen, if you insist that it’s all on me. Why don’t you reflect on what you have done? You turned to your aunt to get Leila admitted to the Training Institute. At lease I have never done anything like that. What’s more, you provided financial backup for Leila to help her start her study in the Institute. I didn’t even blame you for that!”
“Hey, if you keep being unreasonable, I am gonna get mad! Let me repeat it again! Believe it or not, there is nothing special between me and Wilfred. Nothing!”
Her face had turned ghastly pale as she was totally overwhelmed by nausea. Her heartbeat was running wild.
The air was getting even much more intense. Undoubtedly. it was gonna be the most heated argument between them ever since they got married.
Lorenzo felt like being choked. He pulled off the tie and unbuttoned the upper part of his shirt.
Valentina’s intention was being too obvious to be ignored—she was arranging a blind date between Wilfred and Jessica.
What he hated the most was that there was someone else preying for the one he cherished the most.
Lorenzo took a deep breath. Then he turned to look at Jessica, whose face remained pale while she was clutching at the handle with both hands. Her lips got tightly pressed while she fixed her eyes on her own hands. Her forehead started sweating out of panic.
However, she still struggled to hold back her fear. Though haunted by horror, she maintained silence as long as possible.
But soon, Lorenzo collected himself. Though he had always been composed and reasonable, he actually went out of control when driven by madness, totally regardless of the matter of safety.
