Jessica raised her head and noticed that it was Wilfred.
Why did he show up here at midnight?
“What are you holding? What are you going to do with it?” Wilfred started to grow alert when looking at the test tube she was holding.
“Nothing special. This is for Summer.” Jessica hurried to put it back onto the rack. She seemed a bit nervous.
“Are you trying to fool me? It literally looks like poison!”
Actually, Jessica rarely told a lie. That was why she always appeared nervous whenever she was lying.
Wilfred couldn’t help frowning when noticing her lying.
“But…” not until quite a while later did she collect herself. Of course, she was aware that Wilfred, a 25-year-old academician with a doctorate degree, could easily tell that she was producing a vial of poison.
But meanwhile, she was a bit confused—how did he find out so soon?
Actually, Wilfred always walked softly. That was why Jessica didn’t notice his footsteps just now.
“Wilfred don’t tryna stop me. I have to do it. As your sister-in-law, please keep it a secret for me. Most importantly, please keep it from Lorenzo.”
Wilfred only replied with silence while staring at her.
Meanwhile, Jessica felt a bit weird. As she lowered her head, she then noticed that Wilfred still clutched at her wrist. She wanna break free. However, she failed because he was grabbing too hard.
After some consideration, Jessica was aware that Lorenzo’s anger probably resulted from the fact that she was getting too close to Wilfred and Valentina.
However, at a second thought, Jessica doubted that the reason couldn’t be that simple.
Even if Lorenzo wasn’t friendly to Valentina, he had never turned hostile to his aunt.
It seemed that Lorenzo still kept something in mind from her, Jessica supposed.
However, she found it awkward to take the initiative to ask.
When she recalled what Alina told her last night, she noticed that it did make sense—Lorenzo was in badly need for a sense of security. Every unusual detail he noticed would heavily impact on his emotion.
Though she was still doubting about it, she decided to keep a distance from both Wilfred and Valentina.
However, Wilfred still clutched at her wrist, which confused her a lot.
“So what can I do for you?” asked Jessica while looking at him.
“Nothing.” Wilfred let go of her wrist.
He didn’t utter until a while of silence later, “I heard that Leila saved an old lady today. And she was utilizing Escape?”
“Yeah, exactly the same as what Summer told me.” Jessica answered.
“A few years ago back in Fretston, I met a girl who was using the same skill to save a person.” Wilfred continued softly.
Silent, Jessica started to recollect—she remembered she indeed saved someone when she was in Fretston.
At that time, there was another young boy who had joined her. But that boy was using scalpel while she was using needles.
There was one thing in common—both of them were Medical Sage.
Jessica took a look at him and then at his hand, the fingers of which were slim and impressive with clear outline.
Suddenly, she raised her head to look at him as she recollected herself—it was Wilfred who worked together with her to save that person at that time!
“Jesus, was that you?” Jessica was stunned.
“Exactly.” Wilfred nodded.
To her greatest surprise, it had never occurred to her that it was actually Wilfred. She left after saving that person at that time. Then she returned to Ameriart. However, as time went by, she totally forgot about it.
