Lorenzo's custom limousine was parked not far from Capttar Medical School. He rolled down the window, with an ointment in his hand. He knew that Jessica must be inside. He would see her if he entered the school.
But Lorenzo did not dare to go in, fearing that he could not help keeping her so he endured his longing and watched her from a distance.
He kept an absolute safe distance so as not to hurt Jessica again. He was reluctant to part with a broken heart. He never thought he would be so crazy about a girl. Jessica was his salvation.
The details of their life were deeply etched in his mind. There were their conversations and pictures in his phone. There was only one photo in his pone which Jessica sent him by mistake.
He not only save it on his phone but also printed it and put it in a photo frame on his desk in his office. With a sweet memory, he had a broken heart now. He remembered Jessica's cries of pain, her pale face and sweat streaking her forehead.
Lorenzo put his hand against his forehead and took a deep breath.
Levi called Lorenzo several times in a row about something important but he couldn't get through so he kept calling.
"Mr. Fletcher, it’s urgent. The ticket is ready. If you don’t come, you'll miss your flight. The trip is very important to the Fletcher Group and it is not easy to get an appointment with them."
As Lorenzo picked up the phone, Levi's anxious voice came out of the receiver.
"All right. I'll be right there."
There had been no contact between him and Jessica for several days. She had been busy at Capttar Medical School all day long and had never been back.
In addition to her daily work and scientific research, Jessica was immersed in books and researching new drugs desperately.
Finally, she had a major breakthrough for the prescription but the medicinal material had become a problem. It’s the black lotus.
Black lotus had always been like a sacred medicine. The plant grew in a very special environment. It grew only 3 cm per year at the intersection of yin and yang. It bloomed and ripened every five years.
It's real but no one had ever seen it, let alone having it.
"Summer, I finally figured out a new cure! Congratulate me!" Jessica was so happy that she continued talking, "Black lotus is the most important ingredient but no one has ever seen it and no one knows what it looks like."
"Black... Black lotus? Jessica, have you lost your mind? Black lotus doesn’t belong to earth. It grows at the intersection of extreme yin and yang. We don't even know where it is. According to medical books, black lotus has both good and evil properties. Every patient had a different reaction after taking it. It could really kill the patient!"
When Summer heard that Jessica was looking for a black Lotus, her voice changed. She must be crazy!
"Don't worry, Summer. I'm sure I'll find it. I was born with a unique constitution compared to others. And I have been exposed to medicines since childhood so black lotus is no big deal for me." Jessica smiled.
"No! No way!" Summer was scared by Jessica's words. She hurried to persuade her.
"Jessica, you're out of your mind. What happened? If you want to use such a herb, you are gambling with your life because once something goes wrong, no one can save you! How dare you risk your own life!"
"Summer, how old do you think I am? I'm only 23. Do you really think that I'm risking my life? I need you to figure something out. Most of Capttar Medical School's medicinal treasures are in your charge so please help me."
Jessica tried to calm Summer.
"Capttar Medical School does not have black lotus although there are records. No one has seen it. So I’m sorry." Summer sighed.
Jessica was discouraged by her words.
"Ah! It just hits me! Wait for my good news. I know what to do!" Summer said excitedly.
"Summer, really?" Hearing what she said, Jessica’s eyes lit up. She thought to herself, ‘Lerenzo will pull through!’
"I'm not a total loser. Believe me. I just need some time. But it needs the right place at the right time." Summer was very confident.
Things were pretty settled. Jessica hadn’t called Mr. Fletcher for a long time and neither did he so she was wondering how Mr. Fletcher was doing. She was a little angry and aggrieved. How dare he? What did he mean by ignoring her.
The ointment, which the boy gave her kindly, was very effective. Its effect was almost miraculous and it alleviated pain without leaving a scar.
Jessica did some research on the ointment. The ingredients were very complicated, including as many as dozens of medicinal materials and it required a precise proportion. This couldn’t be made by ordinary people. Is that made by the boy?
It seemed that Summer was not the only one who was superior to others. The boy was no ordinary man, either.
