He shut the door and walked quietly towards Ella.
He then sat on the edge of the bed, looking at her, her eyes closed. At first Samuel was not sure whether she had fallen asleep. He figured it out when he inadvertently saw her blink a few more times.
After adjusting his position, he picked up Ella, holding her upper body in his arms.
But she rejected this gesture.
Samuel did not give up easily. He tried three or four times. Perhaps because Ella was worn out, she finally yielded to Samuel.
"Ella..."
"If you have come to persuade me to abort, you're better off giving up on that stupid idea." Ella had made up her mind to do whatever it takes to protect her unborn child.
Samuel kissed her long hair helplessly. He hesitated to tell the truth, because he was afraid the truth would only hurt her more.
"Ella, this child didn't come at an opportune moment. You have to listen to me. There is only half a month before the Chinese New Year. Let's go to the hospital as soon as possible. This way we can leave the hospital safe and sound in time for the Spring Festival."
On hearing his words, Ella forcefully squirmed out of his arms. Samuel's hand hit the bed with a thud.
Ella felt sorry, but still pretended to be indifferent and pushed him away. "How irresponsible you can be. Get out of the room." She didn't want to see him anymore.
"Ella, why aren't you listening to what I am saying?"
"Fuck off, asshole! I must have been blind to fall in love with you!" Ella was still trying to shove him away.
Samuel opened his arms and pulled her towards him. "Ella..."
At the moment, Ella wasn't interested in listening to what he had to say. All she wanted was for him to move out of her sight.
"Samuel, get out!
Fuck off, I don't want to see you anymore.
Get lost!" Ella shouted at Samuel, who seemed to be nonchalant.
With friction between the two, their patience was wearing thin.
Samuel was especially annoyed, as she wasn't giving him a chance to say a word.
"How could you be so obstinate! Do you know this child may not be mine. Do you want me to raise a child of another man? I can not do that! "
Samuel finally spoke his mind without hesitation.
Yes, he admitted that he was too narrow-minded to welcome the birth of another man's baby.
He didn't even think of sending the baby to an orphanage. He wanted to handle it earlier rather than to feel guilty afterwards.
Ella was stunned by his words. What did Samuel mean by saying that he would be raising another man's child?
"Do you mean to say that you think, the child I carry is not yours?" Shocked at what he was insinuating, she stared at the embattled man like a lioness that was about to show her teeth.
Samuel nodded believing that his frankness could save him from being blamed in the future.
"Son of a bitch! Get lost, you bastard!" Ella began to strike him with her fists more fiercely, a reaction that Samuel did not expect.
"Crazy woman, what are you doing!" He managed to get control of her hands that were waving wildly.
Ella looked at the man in front of her, tears cascading down her face: "I've never done anything to hurt you. Why would you say this child is not yours?" Ella felt so heart-broken and desperate, with hatred filling her heart.
"I don't blame you for what happened when you were kidnapped last month, because you were drugged and it was involuntary. I cannot fault you." Samuel rushed to explain.
When did this happen? Ella knew that he was describing what happened last month. Did he think that she had been raped? No wonder he was acting strange when she needed him sexually that night and after.
