Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties novel Chapter 92

"How interesting."

Damien was seated on one of the rocks at the bank of the waterfall. His eyes strayed to where the Cannibals stood bathing the previous day. The water was so clean and sparkling. He let a thin smile seat in his face for a while then looked away. To the water falling heavily up ahead of him.

He had been tempted several times to get to the end of that water, but he had no idea why he felt like there was something dangerous there. Yet, with that feeling, he had never told the girls to stop going there.

Probably because he hadn't really settled the grudge he had against the girls, even though he had lied to himself that he had. He had no idea that self-denial could champion a very deadly course. In the light of his own stance.

"Who could think that the girls could have their ways with the Cannibals?!"

He chuckled wryly.

"Very interesting for real."

He nodded slowly.

"But I'm very interested in how they did it. What was I doing when they were doing their thing?"

"I mean, what did they do the Cannibal? What did they promise him to waver his heart?"

He tried to think for a while but couldn't lay his hands on it. He wasn't mad this time that he couldn't get a grasp on it. Though the details was blurry and seemed remote at that moment, yet he wasn't on an edge.

He knew too well that it was a matter of time before he figured out what really happened. He took in a deep breath, allowing himself to enjoy the gentle waves of breeze hitting on him. Literally and allegorically.

"It must be Ayisha. Or Laurette. Those girls are really doing me proud. After all, they could use their brains."

"Perhaps I've been wrong about them all along. Perhaps doing things for them over and over again didn't give them the chance to be creative and innovative. Perhaps it's a good thing that things are like this. Perhaps I shouldn't be in a haste to get back with them."

Sighing deeply, he shook his head to the gut feelings.

"No, no way. Doing that means we would have to remain on this Island longer than I had expected. We should leave as soon as possible. As soon as I get all the projects in hand done."

He took a pause, bitting his lips.

"And there is the dumb system. Who knows what task again it would give out. It annoys me to think that my decisions are at the mercies of this system."

Then again he recalled that what was happening at the moment was based on his decision. He nodded, making a weird face,

"Maybe the system is not so bad after all."

A strange glare suddenly colonized the pout.

"That fool, Der. What was she doing with Evelyn? I can't believe this. She left me alone to during my trying times only to keep Evelyn company? Arrghhh... I'll skin her alive."

He stood up suddenly. Then he sat back down slowly.

"Fuck her! Why should I care about what she does?"

He changed his position.

"Ayisha. What was she able to deduce after climbing up into the watchtower? Was she able to figure something out. Something interesting?"

He shrugged the thoughts off.

"Why should I be worried? Let her crack the mystery if she could. I'll give her a statue of gold if she can!"

[Ping! System jury: Host's promise has been registered. Breaking promise attracts a severe punishment: lose a major skill!]

"This sly system. This fucking retard of System!!!"

He jumped up in rage, kicking around.

"Popping up with ridiculous terms... whenever it is hardly needed."

He chuckled.

"Why do I, by the day, feel like the owner of this System knows me somehow and is fucking with me."

He spun around quickly. He began to search around.

"Come out right now. I know you are somewhere out there. Come out and let's talk man to man. Stop being a coward!"

He would run from one corner to the other. Then suddenly there was a movement in the wood towards his left.

"No way I'm right..."

His eyes widened, his heart racing. He zoomed at once in the direction.

Fighting its way through a small mound of earth along the bulrushes was a bunny.

"Oh fuck! What was I expecting."

He grunted. He turned away and walked back to the rock.

"That I would see a Chibby or a monster or what... the owner of the system or what?"

He chuckled, mocking himself for a while.

"Dumb bastard."

He cussed at himself, shaking his head over and over again. When he had had enough, he slowly removed the tunic-robe and walked into the water. He bathed for about ten minutes, swimming from right to left.

He didn't want to push his luck. He refused to swim to the end of the water fall. He would when he had the time. Not today.

He walked out and clothed himself. He walked to a nearest tree to the water and looked up. On one of the nearest branches was a dead cougar which was seating across the branch.

"You shouldn't had gone for my queens. I had no choice but to kill you, else you would hurt them again."

He sighed then looked away. He began to walk up the path.

"I really wish that there is another way to deal with these wild cats other than having to kill them. This is their home, I can't rid them off their home. That would be very cruel of me."

"I hope the system could help me make a good decision that would be beneficial to all of us."

He halted, pausing for a moment. He sneered.

"What was I thinking? That the dumb System would answer me? No, it doesn't. It pops us annoyingly whenever it was not called upon."

"Mad man's system."
