Chapter 212 You’re Not the Shortest Record 

The next two days passed quietly 

Bella felt much better, and the group began their journey back home. 

While they had departed with laughter and chatter, the atmosphere on the return trip was noticeably different. The most significant change was with Lan and Celine. They used to be inseparable, but now, they sat on opposite sides. 

Coline knew there wouldn’t be another chance once they returned, so she deliberately glanced at Jan Eventually, she made her way over to sit next to him. “I’m sorry for what I said before. I was terrified, and I know my words were out of line.” 

Jan responded nonchalantly, “You’re right. I didn’t take your words to heart anyway. I was never planning on dating you for long to begin with.” 

She felt choked up by his words and was unsure how to continue the conversation. After a moment, she bit her lip and said, “But I don’t want to break t so soon. We haven’t even been dating for a month.” 

He grinned mischievously. “You’re not the shortest record. The shortest is three days, so don’t overthink it. There’s no need. But you should’ve known from the start that if I took you out, I’d ensure you got home safely. Your worries were unnecessary. Once the plane lands, we’re done.” 

With that, he closed his eyes and prepared for the long journey ahead, which would take several hours. 

Celine took the hint and moved away. This was her own doing. She wasn’t upset about being dumped so quickly but rather t more benefits from lan. After all, he was the only heir of the Clarke family, and she had hoped to gain more from him…

In the evening, their flight landed at Joville Airport. 

Ian and Celine took separate cabs to leave while Leonard drove Lia home. Dominic had gotten someone to pick them up. After hours on the plane, everyone felt fatigued and only exchanged brief pleasantries as they said their goodbyes. 

Once back at Miller Manor, Bella finally felt at ease. Indeed, home sweet home. 

Knowing they were returning that day, Sylvia had prepared a lavish dinner, even setting aside a portion for Pudding 

Perhaps due to her gunshot wound not fully healing, Bella didn’t have much of an appetite. During dinner, she only drank a bit of the easily digestible chowder. 

As she set down her bowl and cullery, Dominic furrowed his brows and asked, “What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well again? Is your appetite off?” 

His gentle yet concerned questions made her feel a bit uneasy. She mumbled something about not being hungry and retreated to her room. 

Puzzled by this, Sylvia cautiously asked Dominic, “Mr. Miller, is the food not to Ms. Jones‘ taste? She barely ate.” 

He replied coolly, “She needs to replenish her nutrition, so prepare more easily digestible foods and avoid heavy flavors for now. I noticed she likes chowder, so have it ready for her. Give it to her whenever she’s hungry.” 

After dinner, he headed to the company to handle some urgent matters that had piled up while he was on vacation.
