Chapter 213 Asking Him to Let Go 

Sylvia hesitated. “Mr. Miller instructed me to keep i 

p an eye on you. He’s worried you might hurt yourself.” 

Bella insisted that she really didn’t need help, and after a moment of uncertainty, Sylvia finally walked away. 

After her shower, Bella felt much more comfortable and fell asleep before 9:00 pm. 

Dominic didn’t return home until the early hours of the morning. Pudding heard him and rushed over, wagging her tail joyfully. 

Feeling tired, he gave her a symbolie pat on the head and raised a finger to her lips in a “hush” gesture, signaling her to be quiet. Although Pudding couldn’t bark, her large size could easily create commotion in the still of the night. 

Noticing his gesture, Pudding immediately toned it down and led him upstairs, stopping at Bella’s door and watching him as if urging him to follow. 

Dominic chuckled. “I’ll be in my room. You can go in and keep an eye on her. Go on.”

The next day, Bella woke up early. Since she couldn’t go to the hospital yet and had nothing to do, she just lay in bed. 

Hearing the sound of someone opening the door softly, she thought it was Sylvia checking on her. Just as she was about to speak, a warm hand touched her forehead. Startled, she decided to continue pretending to sleep 

Dominic confirmed that her temperature was normal and carefully tucked her in. He then called Pudding out of the room. 

Once she heard the door close, she finally opened her eyes. What was going on with him now? Why was he being so gentle all of a sudden? With his behavior, she had to constantly remind herself to stay alert and not get carried away, which was exhausting. 

After a while, her phone rang. Seeing that it was an unknown number, she answered casually, “Hello? Who is this?” 

She recognized Simon’s voice on the other end. “Bella, it’s me.” 

Bella fell silent. After his company went bankrupt, Elaine came to her, causing a scene and even hitting her. He hadn’t shown up since then, so what did he want now? 

She considered hanging up but felt a pang of discomfort at the hoarseness in his voice 

When she didn’t respond, he continued, “My company has gone bankrupt, and I’m facing a lawsuit. I haven’t been able to contact you until now… I have a favor to ask. Can you… talk to Dominic and ask him to let us go? I’ve lost everything.” 

She didn’t understand what he meant. “Yes, you’ve lost everything. No one is out to get you anymore. The only people who won’t let you go are yourselves. This has nothing to do with me and even less to do with Dominic.”
