Cupid's Arrow hit me hard! novel Chapter 1852

“I can identify with Mr. Lewis.”

Camryn said softly, “He suddenly met with an accident and hurt his legs. Now, he’s unable to stand up. It’s normal that it takes a while for him to come to terms with it. His case is considered fine. Many people do extreme things when they can’t accept the fact that they become disabled.

“I almost died back then. When I woke up, all I saw was darkness. I heard Aunt Evelyn’s voice, so I asked her whether it was nighttime and why the lights were off.”

As Camryn recalled the time she had just gone blind, she was so calm that it was as though she was describing someone else’s story.

“Aunt Evelyn said it was daytime. The sun was bright, and there was no need to switch on the lights. She was frightened shortly. She kept asking me if I could see anything, and I said all I saw was darkness. She quickly called the doctor… I turned blind. She wept while hugging me.

“It felt like the end of the world for me. All I could see was darkness, and it made me feel anxious. Not being able to see anything left me feeling insecure and scared…”

Camryn smiled. “Let’s put that aside. It’s all in the past. I’ve gotten used to living in darkness.”

“Is the new semester starting soon?” Camryn suddenly asked Callum.

“Yes. Do you want to meet Trenton?” Trenton was accepted by Barnett University, but the university was far from Wiltspoon. Camryn was concerned that her brother had to study in such a far place. However, she believed that her brother was independent and tough. He could take good care of himself, so she did not need to worry.

Nevertheless, the relationship between Camryn and Trenton had soured.

Trenton and Aunt Evelyn discussed Camryn and Callum’s marriage with the Yorks. After Camryn and Callum held their engagement party, Trenton refused to return home or meet Camryn.

“I guess he still holds a grudge against me, that’s why he doesn’t want to meet me.”

Camryn sighed.

She thought she was not bothered about her brother’s indifference toward her. Over time, Camryn still hoped that she could have a talk with her brother before he returned to university.

Sadly, her brother refused to meet her.

She tried to look for him a few times, but it was fruitless. She stopped looking for him then.
