Camryn withdrew the hand that she used to cover Callum’s mouth and she casually rose to her feet. Before she walked around the counter, the shop assistant came in.
With a sulky expression, Callum walked away and continued to water the flowers.
The shop assistant handed the money to Camryn and turned around to glance at Callum who just walked past her. After Callum walked out of the shop to water the plants outside, she asked in a soft voice, “Boss, did I do something wrong?”
Camryn took the money and counted the notes to confirm that the amount was right. Upon hearing the shop assistant’s question, Camryn answered, “No. You’re fine. You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Good to hear that. I thought I made a mistake. When Mr. Callum walked past me just now, he glared at me.”
After ascertaining that she did not make any mistakes, she heaved a sigh of relief.
Deep down, Camryn roasted her fiancé but on the outside, she said with a gentle smile, “Your eyes could be deceiving you. Why would Callum glare at you? Having said that, he looks serious when he doesn’t smile, which is why you thought he glared at you.”
Callum acted like an elegant gentleman when he was with Camryn. Nevertheless, he showed the other side of himself in front of other people.
Camryn had never seen it. She did not even have any idea what he looked like.
“I guess my eyes were deceiving me. Boss, you’re right. Mr. Callum is gentle toward you, but he looks extremely serious and cold with other people. He seems unapproachable.”
The shop assistant was whispering to Camryn, worried that Callum would hear it if she was too loud.
Callum had good hearing. In fact, he heard everything, but he ignored it and left the shop assistant to perceive him that way. This showed that Camryn received special treatment from him.
He was easygoing when he was with people he was close to.
Camryn laughed. “When he’s with me, he’s actually not gentle. He’s more of a… rogue.”
