For the first time ever, Mrs. Cox did not flip out. Instead, she spoke in an earnest tone. “Robin, you’re still young. Don’t choose the wrong path. Try to keep in touch with that potential suitor. At least, you’ll still have a backup if you and Sylvain break it off. I know I can’t persuade you, and I really can’t be bothered to do it anyway. The house will be in chaos if we end up fighting again. I’m exhausted too. I won’t object to you dating Sylvain, but I have one condition, and that is for you to stay pure. No hanky panky business with him, understand? From now on, no going out to eat in the middle of the night, and you have to be home by 11PM.”

Robin felt guilty but happy at the same time. This was the first time her mother had ever said something nice to her. “Okay! You’re the best, mom!”

The next day, at the company, Sylvain and Arianne began discussing the events from last night. “I met Robin’s mom last night.”

Arianne shivered at the thought of Mrs. Cox’s stern face. “Are you alright? Did she eat you alive? What a miracle!”

Although, I’m not sure if her opinion of me has changed at all since our conversation, but at least, she allowed me to take her home. She was hopping mad at first, but she seemed a lot calmer after our conversation.”

Arianne was apprehensive. “How did you end up with her mother?”

Sylvain lowered his voice and replied, “She caught us when I was having late-night supper with Robin. I was so close to losing my shit…”

He wasn’t the only one. Arianne felt nervous just listening to him. “This is actually pretty awesome! But seriously, what’s the status between you and Robin?”

Sylvain mulled it over. “I guess we’re just friends, but I’ve made it clear in front of her mom that I want to date her.”
