Melissa was a timid child, so her instinct compelled her to slap away Lil’ P’s hand before diving even harder into Melanie’s embrace.
“Millie… What’s the matter?” Melanie intoned helplessly. “This is Lil’ P. Go on, Big Brother Lil’ P has a lot of stuff to show you for playtime. Why are you such a scaredy-cat?”
The frightened Melissa continued to balk silently at Lil’ P, her expression betraying reluctance.
Lil’ P was not the type to give up so soon. Quickly, he pulled out every single delicacy, snack, and toy he had been hoarding in secret. “Ooh, look! Do you want to play? I’ll let you have all these tasty snacks!”
That succeeded in seducing Melissa for quite a bit. She briskly turned to Melanie with eyes inquiring for her opinion. Melanie placed her on the floor. “Go on. Have fun with Lil’ P.”
At first, Melissa was still too timid to indulge, but it did not take a long time before she became accustomed enough that her inner predilection for rough and tumble play surfaced. Suddenly, the girl and Lil’ P were having an indoor romp so exciting that not even a few trips and stumbles did anything to stop her.
Tiffany’s attention coursed through the wealth of gifts Melanie brought. Surprised, she commented, “Sis, you could have just shown up with just your and Millie alone—what’s with all this extra stuff? As if our friendship’s gotten so weak that we need all these excesses to fortify it or something! What, is that what you think of our sister energy, huh? You think it’s gotten weak and faltering, hmmmmm?”
Melanie chuckled and patted her on the back good-naturedly. “Hey now, that’s not true! I’m only… trying to apologize for my brother’s gross transgression, you see? You’re also done with your confinement, right? When you’re finally allowed to go out, I’ll treat you to something nice! Whatever you like is on me!”
