“Then… did Alejandro contact you today?” Jackson asked suddenly.
Afraid that he would overanalyze again, Tiffany paused in thought for two seconds and denied it. “No, do you really think he’d have that much time? To contact me everyday? That’s enough. I’m ending the call.”
Jackson clenched his hand around the phone, scowling when she ended the call. He stared at the picture from Tanya, overcome with mixed feelings. She had clearly seen him today. Tiffany was lying to him… He suspected that she wasn’t at home at all! The thought of his woman spending time with another man was intolerable to him. Despite their cancelled engagement, he had subconsciously marked her as his woman. It hadn’t changed. How was he inferior to a cripple in any way?
He had always been a man of action. He drove over to Tiffany’s condo and called her when he had arrived at her doorstep. “I’m in front of your house. Open the door.”
Tiffany was soaking in the bathtub and dozing off in the tub. She immediately woke up at that very moment. She quickly wrapped a towel around her body and walked out to open the door. She was mystified at the sight of Jackson. “What are you doing? I told you that I was home. Why did you come anyway? Speaking of which, you’re my ex; it shouldn’t matter to you if I’m not at home, right?”
Her words sounded like thorns. Jackson surveyed every corner when he stepped into the house. “Ex? Do you have amnesia? Didn’t we get back together?”
She was rendered completely speechless. “Y-you… You know that I was only joking.”
He pushed her up against the wall, reached out, and unwrapped her towel. As she shielded her breasts from view in panic, he smirked wickedly. “You may have been joking, but I wasn’t. You don’t get to decide if we’ve broken up or not. This time, it’s up to me.”
