Colin strolled around and went back to the kitchen. Harriet was busy preparing the dinner. He couldn't help asking, "Harriet, when did you date Wesley?"
"Why?" Harriet said, without looking back. "I was introduced to him by a friend during a dinner two years ago."
"Are you going to get married?"
Harriet seemed to be stiffened, without saying a word.
Colin simply walked into the kitchen and stood next to Harriet, "I don't think Wesley lives here often. There are too few clothes in the cabinet. To be honest, do you have a bad relationship?"
"Well, it's because Wesley is too busy. He has always gone abroad for business trip most of the time in a year." Harriet did not expect he had such deep insight and she thought her lame lies would be discovered soon. "You can ask him when he comes back if you do not believe me."
"Can I?" Colin was dubious.
"Yeah, besides, if we are not in a good relationship, we won't have children!" Harriet was afraid that Colin would find out the truth if she kept talking, so she asked him out again. "Just go and watch TV, the kitchen smoke is so strong here."
Colin swaggered and reluctantly went to the living room. The doorbell rang when he sat on the sofa.
"Colin, get the door for Wesley."
Colin managed his tie and opened the door.
A young man with gold-framed glasses stood outside, wearing a black suit, releasing a sense of seriousness. He was not tall, and Colin could only look down at him.
Colin looked at the young man carefully, having a hunch that this person must be a secretary or the like.
He could not be Wesley, right?
Colin pondered, thinking about what to say, assistant Moor stared at him for a moment, then said without emotion, "Who are you? Where is Miss Clark?"
"Harriet is cooking." Colin said, guessing that this person should be Wesley's assistant.
Harriet wiped her hands and came out when she heard the noise, she smiled at "Assistant Moor, this is my brother, Colin. Wesley said he is free tonight, so I brought him over for dinner. "
"Wesley cannot come back tonight." Assistant Moor pushed the glasses on the bridge of his nose. When Harriet was pinching, he said in a official tone, "I came to pick you to Seattle."
"Now?" Harriet couldn't understand. Who would go to the medical examination at night?
Assistant Moor nodded.
Harriet knew that Wesley would not be back tonight, and he must be very unhappy if she did not go to Seattle.
She can only reassured Colin, "I will go to Seattle to meet Wesley. You can leave here after finishing the dinner."
"What happened? Didn't Wesley say that he would come back for dinner?" Colin was upset, "Why you have to go to meet him even though he broke his promise."
