Everyone else on the scene kept mum. Obviously, they all caught lan’s sourpuss. 

At first, Maja intended to find Samuel. But with a push from Mia Haskins, things went south, and she ended up smooching lan in a blink 

Initially, people might have thought she was lan’s girlfriend, but now that idea was off the table. 

So, the ladies on the scene started giving each other the once–over, their eyes full of confusion.. 

For Maja they were green with envy. 

After all, she had kissed lan, whose lips were undeniably a magnet. 

After Maja apologized, the bottle on the scene started spinning again. 

Due to her kiss with lan, the atmosphere was a bit awkward. 

Some folks who wanted to make fun didn’t dare to touch lan directly. So everyone zipped their lips when they noticed lan’s mood had cooled. However, Mia Haskins‘ previous act was definitely offside, so someone muttered under their breath.

The words came from Samuel; only he had the guts to speak his mind. 

Upon hearing this, Mia Haskins‘ eyes were filled with tears, and she trembled with rage. 

She shot Maja a nasty look. 

Maja played dumb, quietly waiting for the game to end. 

An hour later, the game finally came to an end. 

Maja got up to leave, but considering the eight million dollars she needed to compensate, she asked lan, 

“Mr. Raymond, what’s your bank account number?” 

lan was holding a glass of wine, spinning it gently with his fingertips. 

Maja had a few drinks during the game; she was a bit tipsy now but still remembered her debt. 

lan was sober, he glanced at her. 

Her cheeks were a bit flushed from the alcohol, but she wasn’t very drunk; her eyes were still bright. 

It reminded him of that night. 

“Where did you get the money?” he asked. 

“Borrowed,” she replied. 

Ian didn’t care about women’s handbags and clothes, but Maja’s lifestyle was not extravagant, and her relatives were still in the country; she was renting and didn’t look rich. He was puzzled, who would lend her so much money? 

He was about to say no need to pay, but she added: “My husband lent it to me; he’s very generous.” 

She seemed to protect her husband a lot. She never badmouthed him, not on the phone, riot in private. 

Is it that she didn’t want to expose her marital problems to others? 

lan scoffed and stood up. 

“If you can’t afford it, don’t bite off more than you can chew next time.” 

Maja also stood up. 

“Mr. Raymond, can you tell me your card number?”
