Chapter 0127
Hector POV
Learning from across their breakfast table that Beckett wanted to donate a kidney to Alora was shocking news. But maybe it would work. It would mean Kaia would remain untouched by the operating knife and both sisters would have a chance of a long happy life. together.
Because that’s how they were starting to appear…together. As twins should be.
They came down holding hands and if it wasn’t for the difference in eyes, you could be forgiven for not being able to tell them apart. But I could.
Except for their wolves, why was Kaia a white wolf and Alora not. Why would the skin part be identical but the wolf side be different.
If Beckett thinks I will easily walk away from this pack then he has a rude awakening coming.
Both females were ignoring me, Kaia by spending all day in the medical centre and Alora barely looked me in the eyes yesterday.
“What I’m struggling to understand is why Beta Samson isn’t a pack member yet…I mean he is your Beta right?” I ask outright at the breakfast table.
“Yes, he is my acting beta. We have every intention of making Samson a pack member but Alora’s return
and now the attack has put everything on hold.” Beckett responds, his scarred eyebrow slightly raised to
“But how can he support you, protect the pack members and even your daughters if he can’t feel the pack bond…”
“Does it affect his abiliites you mean?” Beckett confirms what I am actually asking.
“Well yes, I mean even in the Shadow Rock attack, he had to shift to talk to Kaia….”
“Don’t worry Alpha Hector, I know Kaia well…we grew up together…I know her wolf’s every move, even her every thought…” He sits back in his chair, rolling his eyes at me.
“Her every thought? Is that so?” I wryly reply.
“Samson and Kaia grew up together in the Clearwaters pack. He is the son of my late beta and had always been on track to support the alpha family. He is also responsible for reuniting Kaia and myself. I believe he and Kala were emailing eachother even whilst she was at your pack.”
I don’t know why but that seems to irritate me slightly, that she has history with this Samson. He seems hell bent on all but pissing on her to mark his territory. I don’t know why it should annoy me so much.
After breakfast I take a stroll around the pack grounds with Jude, to check the defence model they have in place as Beckett checks on emails in his office, Kaia escapes to the medical centre and Alora attends training with Samson.
By the time we return to the alpha house, I find Alora sitting alone on a stool at the kitchen island, drinking down a glass of water as if her life depended on it.
“Tough session? Jude overtakes me and joins her at the kitchen island as I remain at a distance. Her

scent was still alluring to me but I know it can never be, and part of my wolf was starting to accept that. However, I didn’t want to test his resolve by getting too close to her.
“You could say that, I haven’t trained like that for a while…”
“Did Samson go too hard on you?” I demand to know.
“No not at all, it’s just odd…my mind is getting more energetic but my body is still very much lethargic.
“Would you accept Beckett’s offer of being a donor?”
“No, that’s not why I am here. I didn’t come for that…then I found out…”
“Found out?” I take a step closer to her.
“Found out exactly what Kaia has been through. She’s been through enough, I’m just happy to get to know my sister and father, for however long the moon goddess grants me.” She responds placing her glass down on the counter top, stepping off the stool.
She seems a lot happier, but I can help but feel this new life she is creating, is a facade.
“Alora…”
