Chapter 0149
Kala POV
“Go!” I gasp out as I drop my command, the Doctor’s body Instantly relaxing from having been tense, as he fought against my command.
If a pack member was crashing; they needed him more than Father did right now.
“I’ll be right back…” He rushes past me, his concern at my Father’s state clear on his paling face.
He was the pack’s alpha, it was unnatural for us to have our alpha unable to rule over us. To have an unfit mental state. Once the drugs were out of his system, he should be back to the strong Alpha that they followed.
My attention returns back to Father who continues to squirm in the bed as if something was troubling him under his back
I
“Just try and rest Father.” I try to hush him back to sleep.
He must be so confused, the medicine is strong and is taking over his mind.
In his current drugged up condition his mind is playing tricks on him…he is making up things, his guilt eating away at him still from Alora’s birth but the drugs are changing his memories.
“She found out. She could sense her.” He growls under his breath.
“Who found out?” I humour him trying to wrap the blanket over him. Perhaps if I play along it will encourage him to return back to sleep quicker.
“Your Mother. I suppose a Mother always knows. She found out!” He growls again.
He wasn’t making any sense, his words repeating back on themselves.
“Found out what?” I perch down on the side of his bed, my hand holding his for comfort.
I wanted him to know I was here, that once the drug daze wore off…he would remember that I had been here. Next to him throughout.
“That Alora wasn’t dead, it was sending her mad. She knew.” He cackles before it turns into a hacking cough
“For 18 months she knew. She threatened to take you away…I’m seeing it even now, the memory vividly clear, Bags packed, she was going to leave and take you with her. I couldn’t lose you, I could never let her take
you away from me.”
I’m unable to move, my hearing drowning out the noises around us…only concentrating on the words flowing freely from his lips.
What was he saying…
My blood runs cold, my spine shuddering within me.
I couldn’t move, I remained like a statue as if moving would stop him from spilling his secrets, spilling his soul.

Chapter 0149
“Believe me Kala, I didn’t want to do it. I loved her..she was my everything, but she couldn’t take you… He was trembling, his hand shaking within my hold until that sinister side takes over him again and his eyes flash in anger.
A murderous glare.
“She forced me to do it.” He barks at me, making my entire body flinch.
“Forced you to do what?” I whisper as my lips part from one another slowly.
“I killed her, killed her with my own bare hands…”
I snatch my hand away as if evil spreads through touch
He looks at his hands, that demonic look staring at them as they shake.
“I can still see the blood, even now!”
I back away as he tries to reach for me, my body going into flight mode.
“You killed my Mother?” My voice doesn’t sound like my own.
“She knew, she knew and was leaving me, but I couldn’t let her take you. I couldn’t let her get word out of what I had done. I would lose everything I had built. But it’s okay…Alora is ours now. I own her. She will help me in my cause, she will help me with you.”
“Help you?” I swallow down the acidic taste that was buming in the back of my throat. I’m not sure at what point I realised his words weren’t a result of drugs..but rather the drugs were letting him truly be himself.
My entire life, childhood had been a lie.
“She will help me…she is ours now ours…” He slowly trails off as he starts to succumb to
unconsciousness.
My heart was pounding as I put all my energy into ensuring my block was up.
I reach out for my wolf but she remains whimpering in the dark recesses of my mind, I was alone.
He killed my Mother, our Mother?
No it must be the drugs…it’s made him temporarily mad..
But it would make sense that she would feel Alora, he told me she died in birth. But what if she didn’t. What if she found out, threatened to leave and take me with her, to find Alora,
“I killed her.” His lips murmur in his sleep.
It felt as if the ceiling and walls of this room were crashing in on me, the heavens continuing to fall onto me from above.
Like some kind of realisation hitting me.
He murdered our mother.
Alora was taken from her, raised by others. She didn’t even know Mother because of me. Didn’t even have a day, a cuddle…even a feed.

Why..
An anger starts to blind me, something that I have experienced before. Where my mind switches off and my body takes control.
An eye for an eye.
