Chapter 0169
Kala POV
“Kala?” I hear Hector call out to me as I slam the front door behind me. I didn’t want to be around him
right now.
He’s commanded me to be here, commanded me not to leave and now I hear that my own pack, my twin sister are potentially in danger.
Yet I bet if it was his pack he would be all over It Instantly.
I could feel my blood boiling. I wanted to scream out and this pack was suddenly feeling too enclosed for
Eyes everywhere.
I walk aimlessly, trying to lose this burning anger within me. I’m not sure how long I have walked but I come across a beautiful meadow.
Wild flowers boom and I have a sense of déjà vu wash over me before a couple of male wolves start walking towards me from the other end of the meadow. This must be one of the pack borders, I guess I had ventured too far for Hector’s liking as they start smirking at me.
I curse under my breath, eyes everywhere.
“You need to turn around Luna,”
“I want to pass.” I state defiantly.
“Not today Luna.” One of them responds before his eyes glaze over and I feel that oppressive suffocating feeling again that only Hector’s command can create. Damn him.
“Luna?” A blonde male walks over to me from the side, his head gesturing for the others to go back to their posts.
“Is everything okay?”
“Riley right?” I remember him coming over with his sister.
“Yes, can I help?”
“I just wanted some space…”
“Rosa’s at home, I know she is dying to see you…If you have the time that is.”
I seemed to have all the time in the world right now.
Having entered into Rosa’s family home and been made repeated cups of tea by her Mother, I finally venture upstairs to see if Rosa is alright.

She didn’t seem to want to venture outside of her bedroom, even knowing that I had come to see her.
As soon as I enter the room I find her muttering to herself in front of the mirror, alarm bells ringing in my

ears.
Slowly I enter the room, my wolf warning me that someone wasn’t right. As I enter the room I ensure my voice is soft and friendly.
“I’m told we knew each other?” I offer out, as she only just notices me entering her room. She turns around, placing some kind of garment that was in her hands back in her chest of drawers.
“Yes Luna….we became friends even in a short space of time.”
“I’m sorry, my amnesia…”
“No Luna, you don’t need to apologise. In a way I’m glad..” What a strange thing to say to me. Everyone else has been concerned by my lack of memory, whereas she seems relieved by it.
“I’ve been downstairs for sometime, did you not hear your mother?”
“No Luna, sorry…I’ve been busy..” She moves to her bed, clearing it of a number of dresses before dumping them on the floor. I watch her for a moment, as she sits on the end of her bed…watching herself in the mirror,
Carefully, I approach her…taking a seat on the side of her bed, watching her start to mutter to herself
again.
She seemed to have some kind of sadness deep rooted within her, something that looking at a mirror helped her to communicate with. Before she sneers at her own reflection. Was she talking to her wolf?
“Is something wrong Rosa?” I tenderly ask her.
“What do you mean?”
“Is something the matter with your wolf?”
“She’s angry.” Her face turns down, her shoulders slumping as she seems to admit defeat on herself.
“At you?”
“At everyone..
“Why is she angry?”
“He…he hurt me.”
“Who hurt you Rosa?”
“My mate…he…” She didn’t need to continue, I knew exactly what had happened to this poor girl. Her mate
had broken her heart.
“Do I need to kill him.” I jokingly say, trying to ease the tension in the room. But it has the opposite desired effect.
“You already did.” She start to uncontrollably sob.
“Excuse me?
“Well not you but…my mate. He’s dead.”
“Dead?” I feel like the wind has been knocked out of my lungs. How was she even still standing. The

death of a mate, if you live through it, was meant to be soul destroying.
“When, how?”

“You don’t remember but when you lived here before. There was a security breach, well I stupidly went off pack grounds to him..”
“He wasn’t part of this pack?” Why has nobody told me this since returning.
“No, he was a warrior of another pack. I went looking for my Dad on patrol and found him instead. I never knew a mate could be so cruel.”
This was way worse than I thought, she didn’t have a broken heart…she had a broken soul. He didn’t, did
he?
