We are now back at her house, I was informed through the mind–link from the doctor that Freya had fainted in the hospital but refused medical attention. 

I put his mind at ease saying I would check in on her, which now worked as my alibi. 

“Did you find what you wanted?” 

“No…it’s as if I was wished for and boom…I arrived at my parent’s front door. A baby ready to adopt and call theirs.” 

“Is that such a bad thing? Why dig up a past that wants to stay hidden. Maybe there’s a reason for it…” Maybe she was right. But something inside of me still wanted to know what the link was between Kaia and I. 

Hector said it himself…twins separated at birth. 

If that was the case she might know something more. Was she raised by them but left when she married Than, or was she adopted.

Fast footsteps outside gather distance on Freya’s front door before it bangs open revealing Beta Zane in the hallway. 

“Freya?” 

“In here?” She yells out to him from the living room. We had to make it look good, she was laying on the ‘sofa with a duvet…her legs slightly elevated. 

“What happened? We were at the far border when the doctor mind–linked to say you had collapsed at the hospital…” 

“I’m fine.” 

“Why were you are the hospital?” He crouches down in front of her, playing the role of a concerned mate very well. I wasn’t convinced. I think if I wasn’t here, he might not be as attentive. I’m not saying they do not love each other but he can be short with her, even in mine and Than’s presence. 

“I was visiting a new mother when I got light–headed….probably just over exertion.” 

“A new mother?” Than’s asks as he enters the front door, closing it behind him. 

“I thought I could smell you. Alora, what are you doing here?” His face is puzzled by my being here. I don’t see why…I was his future Luna after all. Wouldn’t it be fitting for me to check up on my female beta. 1 

“I was mind–linked to check on Freya. The hospital said she refused medical assistance…” 

“lididn’t want to waste their time…honestly I’m fine.” 

“Alora…come!” He was still pissed off at me and me being here won’t have helped. I wasn’t meant to leave the Alpha home without his approval…me not telling him won’t go down well. 

“Aren’t you going back on border patrol?” I look to Zane, I didn’t want to leave Freya alone…not if I needed
