Chapter 0099
Kaia POV
“If you keep heading that way and do not alter your course, you will come to my favourite place. The cliffs with the most perfect view I have ever seen.” My hand points out to the cliffs in the distance.
“Then we must make time to see it today.” Samson spins to me, insisting that I add an extra spot onto the border tour I was giving him.
He’s already had a border tour but this time I wanted to take him out further, so that when he was beta he wouldn’t need to keep asking me details on parameters.
It took me a while to read the border lines, they were very zig zag, not at all like normal packs that tend to be a circular border style. That’s why it was a nightmare keeping the borders protected, they changed depending the location. Once he is a sworn in member of the pack he’ll start to feel the buzz of the pack bond and the vibration of the lands beneath his feet.
I walk him to the cliff tops where the sun shines strongly on us, the waters below glistening against the sun’s beams remind me of Clearwaters. I look to Samson, his eyes light up at the view before him. The mesmerising look he holds tells me that he automatically thinks of our previous pack, and I can’t help but place my hand in his. 1
Knowing what he misses, everything. I had father still, he had nothing.
His head tilts downwards to looking at our hands, his eyes rising upwards to meet mine and I suddenly feel the need to break this awkwardness I have created.
“Look, I’ve spent hours here just watching them. I’d love to be on the yacht looking up. Seeing what it looks like to them.”
“What what looks like?”
“This cliff and all of it….whether they can tell they are living amongst us. That if they walked onto our borders would they sense it like we do. Do their senses kick in if they are in danger…haven’t you ever wondered?”
He doesn’t answer instead his gaze lingers on me that little bit longer than expected, before he looks back out to the sea. I start to feel stupid for commenting on humans…of course no other werewolf would think of them. Why would they It’s just me that wonders of another way to life. The human way.
“Do you think it hurts them?” He asks forcing me out of my own inner embarrassment. I look to him in puzzlement, wondering what he means.
“The sun…they burn so easily. Do you think it hurts them?”
“Yes.”
“Then why do it.”
“To feel alive..” I scream out jokingly, causing him to laugh. I didn’t know a lot about humans but they fascinated me. Samson was right, why did they let their fragile skin burn under the sun. Why didn’t they protect themselves better.
“Come on…let’s head back.” He pulls at my hand, walking me back away from the cliff tops.

Back at the alpha house, I make Samson a hot drink in the kitchen as I search around the fridge freezer seeing what was on offer for dinner tonight. It had been nice just being the 2 of us at dinner time, he was so easy to talk to. Especially reminiscing of our old pack.
I know I shouldn’t, I should leave that pack in the past but it was my mother’s pack and I selfishly enjoyed talking about it.
Adding milk, I stir Samson’s coffee before placing it in front of him when my pack–link is pushed against.
“Luna?”
“Yes…”
“There’s someone at the gate asking for you. But I think it’s some sort of magic at play here…it’s a trick, a possible attack.” The guards voice is apprehensive.
“What do you mean?”
“She looks like you. Damn, if I didn’t know any better I would say she is you.”
“Hey, hey are you okay?” Samson’s hand touches my cheek forcing me to flinch away and come out of my
