Chapter 346

When Victoria saw the densely packed content on the paper, she was filled with shock.
This is definitely his handwriting, but how can he do this overnight?
When she recalled the glance they shared earlier, Alaric’s dark circles seemed more
severe than her own, despite his overall well–groomed appearance.
After she hastily flipped through a few pages, she closed the folder and returned it to
him.
Alaric was somewhat taken aback. “You… finished reading it?”
She merely graced him with an indifferent nod.
At her response, he looked doubtful. So, he didn’t dare to take the papers back just yet.
“That was fast. Did you finish the whole thing?”
“I did.” Her tone remained dispassionate.
He glanced at her again. She said she had finished it, but her nonchalant attitude and
indifferent tone clearly show that she doesn’t care about the design. As he was
somewhat dissatisfied, he pursed his lips and spoke up, “Does this design not meet

your expectations?”

Victoria didn’t answer. Instead, she smiled faintly at him and replied, “Thanks for finding
someone to work on this design overnight.”
Alaric pressed his lips together as he stared at her. For a moment, he didn’t know
whether she genuinely couldn’t tell that he was the one who drew the design or if she
intentionally said those words to provoke him.
After he pondered things over, he didn’t say anything further. Instead, he took the
design and showed it to the two children.
She was quite surprised at his action, for she thought he would explain that he was the
one who drew the design. Well, it’s out of my expectations for him to not say anything.
However, in the next second, her naive daughter, Nicole, became his little helper. Nicole
suddenly looked at the densely packed design and curiously asked, “Wow, Mr. Night, did
you draw this?”
Victoria became speechless at her daughter’s words. Oh, my precious daughter. If it
weren’t for your limited intelligence at the age of five, I would have thought that
were deliberately undermining my position.

It was obvious that Alaric was quite satisfied with this question. There was a faint smile
on his lips as he reached out and gently caressed Nicole’s little head, whispering,
“That’s right. I drew them.”
“Wow.” Although she didn’t understand what he drew, seeing the densely packed
content made her feel that he was amazing. “You’re so talented, Mr. Night.”
What a feeling it was to be praised by his daughter! He was on cloud nine at this
moment, floating lightly due to her praise. “Look, Nicole. This house that I drew has
everything in it. If you were to live in a house like this, would you like it?”
“I would love it!” Nicole answered loudly.
Meanwhile, Nathan secretly glanced at Victoria.
At this moment, Victoria was at a loss for words. She rested her forehead against her
palm as she slowly turned around, deciding not to bother looking at such a sore sight. If
Alaric wants to take my children away from me, I feel that he can have Nicole
effortlessly. Just a gesture from him, and she might follow him willingly.
The thought of her child, whom she had raised with such effort, being less attached to
her than to her newly acquainted father left her with a tinge of bitterness.

Regardless, even if she felt hurt, she hadn’t once shown her displeasure. She was the
mother, after all, and she couldn’t be petty with a child.
Just then, the driver stopped the car not far from a breakfast stall and turned back
awkwardly, saying, “Mr. Cadogan, it’s probably not possible to go any further.

Everyone looked ahead in response. There were two streets ahead, one being a main
road and the other leading to a nearby market. The sides of the road were lined with
shops, and in the morning, when they weren’t open for business, they left the area near
the entrance for street vendors. Many vendors were selling various items and calling
out to attract buyers.
Where there were sellers, there were also buyers, and most people were out running
errands at this time. While it wouldn’t be a problem to drive into the area, it would
probably take a long time to finally reach the proverbial end of the tunnel. If they were
only here for breakfast today and didn’t need to rush for school, they could keep going,
but…
Victoria was about to speak when she heard Alaric say, “Let’s walk there, then.” He stole
her line. She shot him a dissatisfied look at the back of his head.
“Let’s go.” He gathered the two children’s school bags, then got out of the car with the
two little ones.

The driver immediately said, “I’ll wait for you in the car, Mr. Cadogan.”
Alaric nodded in agreement.
Victoria had no choice but to get out of the car as well.

After she had done so, she glanced at his attire and mocked, “Are you sure you want to
wear your expensive suit and accompany us to eat waffles at the stall?”
At her question, he looked back at her. “Is there a problem? Your attire is eye–catching
too.”
She instinctively looked down at her attire. She was dressed quite simply and casually,
wearing black pants and a sky–blue sweater, with a beige long coat layered on top. This
kind of outfit was simple.
“Do you not believe me?” Alaric smirked. “Look around you.”
Only then did she have a mind to observe their surroundings. As soon as they got out of
the car, the crowd’s gazes gathered on them. Some were shooting odd looks at her,
some were sizing Alaric up, and some even looked at the two children.
“Don’t worry about what you wear. Considering your looks, those people will still look at

you even if you show up wearing a potato sack,” he said suddenly.
Victoria was taken aback by his backhanded compliment.
