Chapter 453
After Rainee made up her mind, she felt her heart flutter with glee. Then, she turned
and asked, “By the way, Leon, where is Bane now? When will he be back?”
“Mr. Morison is currently dealing with some urgent matters and will probably return in
the evening. Ms. Rainee, how about staying for dinner?”

She nodded. “Alright, I’ll stay then.” Afterward, she glanced at the room that had been
tightly shut earlier and snorted, “It’s been a long time since Bane was here, but now he’s
come back just for that woman.”
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. She regretted not pushing
Victoria harder earlier. Well, whatever. As long as she stayed here frequently, she would
have plenty of opportunities to teach Victoria a lesson.
After Rainee decided to stay, she had Leon order the staff to clean up the room for her
and bring her luggage over. She settled into the room right next to Bane’s room. Three
hours had passed by the time everything was settled. She lay on her large bed for a
while before getting up and approaching Leon with a question. “By the way, did that
woman Báne brought back cause any trouble?”
Leon had been busy assisting Rainee, so he hadn’t paid attention to Victoria. When he heard her question, he finally remembered Victoria and shook his head. “No.”

Rainee was surprised by his response and raised an eyebrow. “Didn’t she say she didn’t want to be with Bane at all? But she didn’t make any noise or cause any trouble after
being locked in the room. Don’t you think it’s strange?”
Leon seemed to realize something was off upon hearing that. However, his thoughts
and Rainee’s were completely different.
“Are the rumors even accurate? It seems like she doesn’t mind at all. Maybe she
couldn’t wait to come here?”
Leon felt a bit worried. After all, he knew some things. Victoria’s reluctance to come
over was not an act, but genuine. Yet, given the current situation… His expression
changed as he thought of something–what if Rainee hurt Victoria with that push
earlier? After all, she used quite a bit of force. What if…
Unfortunately, Rainee had a completely different mindset. She still believed that
Victoria was just pretending. “She’s playing hard to get with Bane, and she’s quite good
at it. This woman is truly cunning.”
He sighed. Well, he’d better go back and check on her himself.
Just as Leon was about to leave, Rainee called out, “Oh, Leon, could you please make a
phone call to ask when Bane will be back? I really miss him.”
He hesitated and said, “Well… I’m afraid I have to attend to Miss Selwyn first.”

“Why do you need to? Let her pretend if she wants to. We don’t need to bother with her,” Rainee replied nonchalantly. Then, she took matters into her own hands and grabbed
Leon’s arm, pulling him away. Regardless, as soon as they reached the downstairs area,
they heard a voice from outside.
“Ah!” Instantly, her excitement grew upon recognizing the voice. “It sounds like Bane is
back!”
She released Leon’s arm and ran toward the main door. “Bane! You’re back!”
As Bane entered the house, he handed his coat to a servant and noticed her rushing
toward him. He narrowed his eyes. “Rainee? What are you doing here?”
His cold demeanor made her stop in her tracks when she neared him. She stood in
front of him, feeling uncertain. Her heart sank as she heard his cold tone while
speaking to her, and she became somewhat timid. She spoke softly, “I… I missed you,
so I came to see you.”
Unfortunately, Bane looked at her as if she were a stranger. After she finished
explaining herself, he ordered coldly, “Someone send her home.”
Leon, who had been following them, reluctantly nodded. “Alright, Mr. Morison.”
“No!” She immediately resisted. “Bane, it’s been so long since we’ve seen each other. I
finally managed to take some time off to come and see you. Do you really dislike me so

terribly?”
Clearly, Bane’s attention was not focused on her at all. He remained indifferent even after hearing her words. Instead, he replied coldly, “I don’t have time to entertain you
right now. Leave and come back another time.”

After he finished speaking, he walked upstairs without paying any further attention to
her. He had more important things to attend to. It had been almost a day since Victoria
arrived, and if it weren’t for the matters he needed to handle, he would have returned
earlier.
Yet, at that moment, Rainee stopped him once more. “Why don’t you have time to
entertain me? Is it because of the woman upstairs?”
Bane, who was originally walking toward the stairs, paused and turned to look at her.
His gaze instantly turned icy cold. “What did you say?” In the next moment, his gaze
shifted toward Leon standing beside her. “Leon!”
Leon immediately tensed up, his body stiffening as he nervously explained, “I’m sorry,
