Chapter 452
When Victoria entered the car, she noticed that the passenger seat was empty, so she
decided to sit there without further ado. Initially, it was supposed to be Ethan’s seat. So,
when the driver saw her sitting there, he glanced at Ethan.
“Miss Selwyn, it’s not safe to sit in the front seat. How about-”
“Do I not have the right to choose my own seat?” she interrupted.
“Let her sit there as long as she’s happy.” A voice came through the earpiece. It was
Bane. Ethan remained silent, and everyone entered the car one by one.
Since Victoria had previously worn blindfold glasses, no precautions were taken inside
the car. She could see the street view clearly from the car and even read license plates.
It didn’t take her long to figure out their destination. So, she leisurely looked out the
window, observing the scenery and buildings. The journey lasted about an hour, and
they finally arrived at their destination.
She followed Ethan as they exited the car, and the first thing she asked after getting out
was, “Where is Alaric?”
Ethan didn’t respond. Instead, a person who had approached from the house entrance
took his place. After a brief conversation with that person, Ethan left, and he glanced at
her before departing. Her heart sank at the sight of him leaving. Was his only task to

escort her here and then leave?
As expected, Ethan got back in the car and quickly drove away. Once he disappeared
from her sight, the person who replaced him approached Victoria. His gaze fixed on her
like that of a venomous snake.
“Hello, Miss Selwyn. Please follow me,” he said.
For some reason, she felt as if she had become the target of a venomous snake the moment she met his gaze. Instinctively, she furrowed her brows but had no choice but to follow him. She walked behind him as he led her inside. He brought her to a room,
and as she stood by the doorway and took a quick glance inside, she asked, “Where is
Alaric? Where is Bane?”
“We don’t know, but Mr. Morison has instructed that this will be your room from now
on.”
She was rendered speechless upon hearing that, so she stared at him. “What do you
mean? I didn’t come here to stay. You promised that I could come and see-”
However, before she could finish her sentence, a high–pitched voice echoed from
downstairs.
“What’s with the fuss?” Victoria’s gaze followed the voice and saw a girl in a pink dress
walking toward them. She had curly hair and vibrant nail polish, exuding the impression

of a beautiful young girl.
As soon as the girl spotted Victoria, she narrowed her eyes and asked, “Are you the
woman Bane loves but can’t have?”
Victoria was taken aback by her words.
The girl scanned Victoria from head to toe, and a flicker of astonishment crossed her
eyes but was quickly replaced by annoyance. She exclaimed, “What’s this? I thought
you would be far prettier. It turns out, you’re just average.”
Victoria was at a loss for words, and her eyebrows furrowed in response. Who was this
random girl? She hadn’t come here to engage with her. So, she turned to look at the
person who was interacting with Ethan.
“I want to see Bane,” she demanded. She had rushed over here overnight just to see
Alaric.
Instead, the girl turned and asked, “What’s going on, Leon?”
Leon replied, “Ms. Rainee, Mr. Morison wanted her to stay in her own room.”
“Oh, then why is she still here? Let her go into the room,” the girl retorted.
“Well, this young lady might have other demands and might not be willing-”
cefully
Before Leon could finish his sentence, the girl suddenly reached out and pushed Victoria into the room, quickly closing the door. Although Leon disliked Victoria for influencing Bane, he didn’t dare to touch her. Yet, he didn’t expect Rainee to
suddenly push her into the room and shut the door.
“Ms. Rainee…”
Rainee tilted her chin and looked at him. “What’s wrong? Didn’t you say she didn’t want
to go in? So, I used the most straightforward method to make her go in. Bane doesn’t
want her wandering around, right? So, hurry up and lock the door.”
After a brief moment of confusion, he smiled. “You’re right, Ms. Rainee. I’ll lock the door
right away.”
They quickly came to an agreement and locked the door before leaving. As they
departed, their footsteps were light and hurried, and they naturally didn’t notice the
person inside the room falling after being pushed.
Victoria never expected that the girl, who already appeared domineering, would
suddenly make a move on her and push her inside. Her head hit the ground hard,
causing sharp pain and making her see stars. She tried to prop herself up with her hand
and sit–up, but her vision became dizzy, and she felt too weak to support herself.
She reached back to touch the back of her head and felt it was wet. However, before
she could look at her wet palm, she lost consciousness once again.

Leon followed Rainee as they walked down the stairs. “Ms. Rainee, what you did might
upset Mr. Morison,” he said.
“What’s there to be upset about? Doesn’t he want to confine that woman? I was just
helping him out since she wouldn’t listen. Bane should be grateful to me,” she replied.
“But… what if she gets hurt because you pushed her?”
“Come on, it was just a slight push. She’s an adult, not a child. Do you think she’s made
of sand that she gets injured from a mere push? Besides, she wants to compete with
me for Bane. What’s wrong with teaching her a lesson? Don’t worry, it’s nothing.” She
dismissed any guilt about pushing Victoria.
“A push might not be a big deal, but have you considered that she might complain to
